I decided to make a guide for newbies to understand. Remember that these guides are made based on my own experience in handling a BB team, and any opinions and comments are open. I will leave this thread open.
First, you have to familiarize yourself with your players. by going to your
roster page, and to look through either in their age, potential, and salary. Remember that younger players trains faster than old players, and tall players trains better at center training, and small players trains better at guard training.
Salary is mostly the basis on who stays on the team and who goes... usually, players with $4000 salary and above are good enough for your team... combine that with a young age and a high potential
/community/rules.aspx?nav=Nomenclature and he could be a perfect trainee. Young players with $3000 salary are also good trainees.
Second, you have to train your players. You have to go to the Training page
/manage/training.aspx and select what type of training you want to train, and what position do you want to train. There is also a scouting page wherein you choose how many players do you want to scout per week for the next season's draft.
Don't forget to update your changes***Another thing, when training, you'll have a level 1 trainer to train your players. It is best to buy a good trainer right ahead to optimize training results of your players. Just go to the
staff page, located at the Manage My Team link
/manage/overview.aspx, then replace your level 1 trainer with a new, and hopefully, better trainer. Purchasing a staff is in auction basis, so you have to look through your bids and hope that they are not being overbid.
Third, you have to set your lineup. In case you can't login that often, we have a default lineup option when setting up orders. In the
schedule page, located at your team page or at the league page drop-down box. Click on set orders. this leads you to the tactics page of a particular game. set your players, backups and reserves, select your offensive and defensive tactics, your attitude for the game (Scrimmages and Private Leagues have no attitude to use, as players will always play normal in default in these games) then check the "Make this the Standard Line-up" Box. Then click "Send Orders".
And there you go! You are all set. Try to familiarize these things and after that, you may tackle on the other things that are somewhat more complex for newbies, like arena expansion, staff and player purchase, etc.
If you have comments and questions, ask here, and others may read your questions and help you.
