I've recently been experimenting with the princeton offense and find it very promising for my team. Based on the rules and what I've read on the net I have some question to how its being applied here.
The focus does say its more of an inside/outside, but have noticed it seems pretty heavily weighted to outside shots. Also, for some reason in both games my pg has taken a very large portion of the shots. Is this normal for this offense? My pg is not a better outside shooter than my sg or sf.

Both PG and SG are mostly responsible for 3 point shots. If you use princton.. which relies heavily on long range more than mid range, You can expect your PG and SG to do the most shooting. Also check out their Jump shot. If your PG has a better skill level on JS than your SG .. he will shoot more than him.

Then your SG is just taking shots for himself. It wouldn't be fun if it was pure statistic based. Players have their up and downs. Probably your PG felt like shooting alot.

>>My pg is not a better outside shooter than my sg or sf.<<
However he might have been guarded by your opponent's worst outside defender, in which case he had a better chance of making shots in this specific game.
Perhaps your opponent placed his best defender on your best scorer. Wouldn't you do that? Wouldn't your opponent have reason to hope his best defender would shut down your best scorer? Certainly you would hope that.
Never underestimate your opponent.

its only been two games and im not saying any of what your saying is wrong. i just find it odd that based on players skill set (very good inside scorers, not as good outside scoeres that are are relatively the same outside shooting) my pg is taking sooo many shots.
anyone else out there using this tactic? if so, how's it been working for you?

If you have good inside scorers.... why use princton. Doesn't really make sense.

Princeton increases inside focus, so why wouldn't you?
NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

yep, along with other good reasons
anyway, really just wondering if anyone else has seen an un-proportional number of shots go to their PG using this tactic. if not, how has it been working for other teams

Princeton has both inside and outside focus. It's not 50/50, it depends on the situation. I'll say a bit more outside than inside. Since you be shooting more 3's than 2's. The inside focus just is there to get the outside free AND take easy shots when there are any.You be passing a lot from in to out and vice versa, to get a clear 3 point shot. If there is a easy inside shot. then they get it inside to do a easy inside shot/dunk. Expect your team to shoot a lot form the outside if there aren't any easy shots from within the paint.
If you really want more inside focus.. you're better off with look inside or Low post.
