Just a quick question, when a player gets a turnover in the match stats, does that mean he won possession or lost it?
Is it a good or bad thing?

It's a bad thing. It means he lost the ball. Turning over the ball to the other team. Hence "Turnover".

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. I just wasn't sure if it was forcing a turnover from the opposition, but guess that would count as a steal.
