We drew the #3 team from the consolation round robin stage. Solid team. One of their better guards is a +1 injury, so I'll keep an eye on him the next couple updates.
They do a lot of Run and Gun and 2-3 zone, opening up their outside def. Also, even when they play 3-2, their OD is still no stronger then their inside def.
Other regional team's games to watch are Canada v Czech Rep, who the winner of our game plays. Chile gets a very difficult road game against Poland. Go Poland! Go Czech Rep!

Go Poland? That is a bit surprising. I would think the 3rd largest team based country is someone we wouldnt want to root for, at least for USA's interest. Noob though (me) so I am sure there is a reason.

first and foremost we want to go further in the knockouts then anyone else from our region to get homecourt in the reginional qualifiers next season.
so a poland/czech rep win combined with a win for us over russia ensures HCA thru the regionals next season.
if that happens then we aim for the whole thing, which will be tough having to do it on the road the rest of the way.
chile willl need an upset to beat poland, but canada is pretty evenly matched with czech rep but are at home. chances are, we need to win this round and then beat canada away the following.
one step at a time, and russia is the toughest team we've seen in the consolations.

Thanks that makes complete sense. ATM we arent really in competition with Poland and Czec, but we are with Chile and Canada. I'll catch on :)

The system is far from intuitive, usually bothering juicepats for clarification on something about the NT system every other week.

That is why that 30 minute personal training session with Juice would have been so valuable. I hope this incentive to recruit comes up again, as I missed my chance the last time. I am traveling to Boston this summer and I would have picked his brain on where the best clubs are! (oh, and I would probably have asked a few BB questions as well)

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score

Be there in late July.
But just to clarify....I was kidding about paying extra to have you sit in my lap.
:P
Edit: Coming from a military background I am used to ribbing/being ribbed on a constant basis. Hope this was taken as a joke as intended

Game starts in just a couple mins.
Decided to go look inside and play M2M on def. Really couldnt predict what they'd do on offense, so playing it safe there.
As for the attack, would have liked to go outside but a couple key players for that tactic just werent in the best game shape.
Let's go US!

Big win, mostly due to nailing the tactics. Suffered foul trouble (2 starters fouled out), 2nd half injury to our starting PG Henderson, and despite having better team rebounding rating, got killed on the offensive boards. But, Russia couldn't overcome the 3-2 zone against our look inside, and we eventually pulled away in the 2nd half.
Now, lets see how Canada and Chile do later today.
