Handling has been said in previous posts to be important only when opponent plays a pressing defence. In the rules, it says that it may improve shot opportunities.
However, from my experience, if the opponent doesn't play a pressing defence, handling doesn't seem very useful, other than perhaps avoiding traveling and such once in a while.

Is it worth having a good handling ability?

Thanks

ok, maybe just from my personal observation.

But still, is handling that useful? I've only seen it being useful when opponent plays a pressing defence.

I wonder how you could see that. It is written somewhere in the game code so you should be more precise. What you've written are only assumptions, arent they?

Alright, sorry.

I just want your opinions.

From your observations or experience, how useful has handling been?

Turnovers aside I think it depends on playing position. Could be one of many things influencing FG%, guards or guards/forwards especially.

When your C or PF gets a rebound and then has it immediately stolen you get a good indication of how handling is important.

Also , i think handling reduces your turnovers, and you also will have more steals.

How would you rate LeBron James' handling?

Exactly.

His handling enables him to create better shots.

Here is a more personal example:

I still play in a rec league and my handling sucks. I spot up and wait for a pass, or I'll get garbage points from rebounds. If my handling was better, I'd create more shots and therefore take more shots.
