Heya

(I am looking for qualified and experienced answeres)

What i know?

Game Shape depends on 1. the minutes played (e.g. 40-80) and 2. regularity of minutes played (e.g. 50mins (week 29), 56mins (week 30), 51mins (week 31) etc..).

So my guys are used to play around the same minutes every week, which is in between 48-60, hence they are in 8-9 game shape all the time.

My question

Does anyone of you (experienced) guys know, whether a week of 70-80mins would **** up my guys game shapes? e.g. could a guy from 8 or 9 drop down to 7?
where's more or less the killer line, 80 minutes + ? or can 72-80 minutes already ruin the game shape for a guy used to 55mins?

Good answers would be very much appreciated

thanks

I believe that you would probably be OK up to 80 minutes. That has been my experience although there is still that dreaded random factor. You're right I believe that it is not simply a function of this week's minutes, but to a lesser extent the minutes of at least the last week (if not back a couple more). Good luck...Pappy

do you think form training would be an option too?

or doesn't that help if players played "too" much minutes? only if not enough are played?

You can find a graph of the relationship between minutes played and game shape drops/raises in the 1st week of the season after the game shape reset here.

The perfect number seems to be around 60.

Hey shades—I have never trained game shape and probably would never consider doing it. Remember that game shape resets at the beginning of every season and with decent minute management, it shouldn't really be a problem (barring injuries, for example). I believe that there are very few managers who do train game shape—and then perhaps only at playoff time.

shades: I never meant to imply that game shape was uinimportant—it is extremely important. I simply meant to point out that training other skills might be of more value. You should train whatever you feel is the most valuable for your team!
