As the person who bested me to an extremely coveted NBBA slot, I can vouch for the tactical nous of namssor. Your last manager did ok all things considered, but namssor will have my assistance, and is a brilliant manager that can take your team to the next level. He speaks english fluently, and is the most talented candidate by a good bit.

Thank you sir. Although my semi-recent move to Boston has diminished my vocabulary a bit ;-)

Colesy, care to explain why 90% of your club matches and U21 matches involve Look Inside / Man to Man tactics?

Looking at the salaries of the players, we had just as many good outside guys as inside guys, but rarely gave them a shot. Our team has been extremely easy to scout against under your previous command.

over the past season the u21 team has played look inside on three occassions in competitive matches thats out of eight games. first of all that is nowhere near 90%.... the season before the tactics were mainly to look inside as the players in the squad last season were much better suited to an inside game.

with my side i also base my offence around an inside game most of the time due to my players and the fact that alot of the better teams in the league have better outside D than they do inside. but this is also changable depending on the opposition though.

BTW... for about the last 10 games of last season youve played motion... stones in glass houses??

colesy, have you seen his roster? More specifically have you seen Thad Whittington? Thad is so much incrementally better than the next player on his roster or even on your entire u-21 team, that it almost forces the Rojo's default offense to be Motion. Should there be a reason to switch, then he will switch, but he mostly has the luxury of opposing teams having to do something special to react to him.

The New Zealand roster, as nice as it is for a country of its size, has no such luxury.

Gunner, you meant Marcus Nichols, but yeah when you have a former USA NT SG and a U21 NT PG candidate, it's hard not to play Motion. Now that I just bought a great C I'll have the luxury to play both inside and outside, which is what a balanced team (and the NT) should do. If the inside was so dominant, why not try Princeton or Low Post?

I was also able to test out lots of different formations in my Private League to see if any were game-worthy (which they weren't). And to be honest, I was winning every game with Motion. Since I won the championship, why change my tactics?

Nevermind the offence, the point I wanted to make was that the difference between us is that I actually adjusted my defence based on my opponent. With a U21 team that has solid players at all positions, I think it's necessary to mix up defences, not just play Man to Man every game, which you did in 15 out of 17 games! Not including scrimmages, which I think should be used to test out different schemes, much like a Private League game.

Especially with the varying game shapes on the players each week! That's a very underrated aspect of tactics planning when you have many players with such similar skills. That's also why you can't assume that the NZ inside game is ALWAYS better than the outside. The team is an ever-changing thing each week.

Just my thoughts!
