hey i have a big problem with the scouting thing. I currently invest 10 000/w so scouting 2 players. My question is if i invest now till the end of the season will i have more chanses to get better info about drafting new players then a guy that is investing lets say 20 000/w but only at the end of the season. So basicly is there a good ideea 2 invest in scouting now, will it have any effect on the long term investment in drafting? Coz 10 000/w is quite some money so i wouldnt like to waste them. In hattrink there was a level of pulling young players that was rising with more money u invest thus had a better chance of pulling better players..so does buzzerbeater has the same system. If a similar question was answerd befor plz accept my apollogies and send me a linq with it. Thx in advance!

Scouting money only affects up until 3 weeks before the draft. Once that date is hit, scouting resets, and you start anew.

Also, please refrain from text-speak on the forums.

You don't receive very much information about the players you scout., and each owner in your league is given information about different players (players are assigned numbers, player number 12 for you could player number 37 for someone else. There might only be 2 or 3 teams that know anything about a given player, so you should get reasonable players without much scouting, if you simply order your draft list.

Last season, I didn't even know that you could scout before the draft, and ended up with 2 starters and a backup (you draft 3 players).

Don't spend money you don't have. But if you can scout at least a few players, then you'll be able to at least put them in rough order from best to worst and will likely get some decent, young players.

A lot will depend on what the rest of the conference does...obviously, if they spend a lot on scouting and rank their players appropriately, then results wouldn't be that good. However, a lot of people have a lot of bots and inactive players in their conference, so a little scouting might go a long way.

simple.
The season is 14 weeks long (11 league weeks plus 3 weeks of playoffs) thus 14 scouting opportunities. in each of these oportunities your team could scout 0,1,2,3, or 4 players. thus, there could be chances to scout 56 instances of scouting in a season (some might be scouted more than once)

if you come in a 3 weeks late, then you can scout for 11 weeks, and could have up to (11*4=44) scouting instances.

so no worries that you missed a few weeks. just scout what you can afford.
last season I had three weeks of scouting at 2 players a week. just from that US$ 30,000 I was able to see some 5 star players. I was able to get a couple players that have really helped my team, and with some traiining I can sell in a few seasons.

Scouting that occurs after the playoffs commence will count towards next season, not this season.

Is scouting really worth it? If you invest $20K per week, you end up spending $280K over the course of a season. I am currently in 1st place (only one loss), so i will probably be picking at the bottom. Wouldnt i be better off saving my 280K and buying quality players with the money??

You really won't be picking at the bottom. Most of the other teams won't know anything about most of the other players. Each team that scouts is told about different players, whose indentity is anonymized by a number. Joe Smith might be #32 on your scouting report, and #4 on mine, and #16 on someone else's.

So the players that you know about as being talented will be passed over by the other teams, simply because they don't know anything about the player, or they will know about other players who are as highly rated, and will pick them instead.
