Hi,

This fine young man is one of my trainees:
Yam Gold (834785)
Owner:
theChefs

Weekly salary:
$3154
DMI: 19700
Age: 19
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: average Handling: mediocre
Driving: average Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: mediocre
Rebounding: atrocious Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: atrocious

Experience: pitiful

Although his shooting skills are pretty fine for my league, he keeps shooting very badly, whereas other shooting gourds on my team with lower skills shoot much better (with the same pitiful experience).

why is that? Where did I go wrong with this kid :)?

Maybe because you have been playing Inside Shot. He may be taking more inside shots than outside shots which is his strength.

Oh,

I thought that by looking inside I'm only telling my outside players to search for one of the big guys, not going inside themselves...
Nevertheless, this dude is mediocre inside shooter, and one of my other gourds is inept, and still scores better, so i'm not sure that's the reason.

thanks anyway,

yaniv

This is interesting. I've noticed that you changed to a Motion offense recently, and that kid still can't seem to shoot well. Your outside shooting was far superior to your opponent's perimeter defense, yet the kid can't shoot the ball into the ocean while standing in wet sand. 1-10 from 3pt range? Wow.

I have a similar player who takes a LOT of shots, and only scores on about 30% of them. I wonder what causes this?

I still haven't got an answer.
Playing motion with that kid had cost me the match. Playing motion was an very bad experience for me, and I stopped doing that.
I'm thinking of selling the kid, but I'm not sure anyone would like a jinxed kid...

I doubt that any player is "jinxed"; its more likely something in the player skills we're not seeing (i.e., mediocre is not as good as we think, etc.)

But that still doesn't provide him with an adequate answer which I am curious to know too. The player has been compared to other guards within the team, and strangely, he has come out short in that department despite having better necessary skills.

Your'e right.

Someone has told me that since I played look inside, his mediocre inside shooting held him back, but the other inept IS SG had much better games. Furthermore, even when I've played the JS,JR oriented motion offense he had his worst game ever!
I believe I'll probably get my answer later on, when we'll all get more experienced in BB.
