Training Inside Defence will that help my Shooting Guard From fouling. He averages 5 fouls a game now at the start of the season he was doing fine defensively, I don't know what just happened to him but his def is awful and he gets pulled out of games

yes. maybe. hopefully.
Possible solutions:

a) Three skills in my opinion that really help fouls are OD, ID, and SB. The higher they are the less they foul.

b) Also, IMHO, there is a hidden foul skill that is just how rough a given player players.

c) It also could be the level of competition is too great for him. When you play someone far suprior to you, you foul him to compensate for being weaker. So a inept guarding SG will foul a prominent shooting SG because they can't stop him. My SG, Fred Cromwell, is pretty good about fouls, but when he faces the top SGs in my league, he inevitable fouls out.

Just some theories, totally untested.

Hope this helps.

Daniel

with my experience with nationalteams, i would say that is wrong - because the foul distribitution looks pretty the same even when they are huge different in quality on both side.

In clubs it counts a bit, but this is more part of beeing the missmatch(that could also be the opposite player with best chanches to score in a very good defense), because this misssmatch takes a lot of shots. And in clubs the chanche is high to have superior scorers/players in team, which leads to many shot attemps of a single player - and many posiibilities to foul him.

sometimes i believe thats right sometimes not, but if it right i believe stamina is also a factor here.

not just imho, this is the biggest part of it who leed to consistenly high amount of fouls.
