Can somebody point me to a game where a really good shot blocker had a bunch of blocks and perhaps altered the game flow?

To me, it just seems that shot blocking is the least important big man skill (and least important by a lot).

I agree with you, I think Shot Blocking isn't really important.

let's say a team blocks 10 shots average. The other team has about 40% FG. So you could say you blocked 4 shots which most probably be 2 pointers. You denied 8 points. A team would probably make 100 points a game. you denied like 8% of that. Sure this calculation is nowhere close to being realistic. Just and example.

It doesn't effect the game THAT much, but it might be the 8 points you needed denied to win the game.

Players need balanced training to train efficiently.

If they train a few relevant skills (relevant for inside players being Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Rebounding, Shot Blocking) and don't train them all, then eventually training will slow down.

what about for the more rounded SF players that need inside and outside skills... would you expect training to show on their best skills if they were awful or worse on 1 or 2 of their stats?

going back to a thread i started just now.. are there skills that are not required for certain positions??

Of course.

However, it's one I believe very strongly in.

Do mean rotate those four for big men? Or that they need all the other skills trained in addition?

I'm going on the assumption bringing the BIG MAN FOUR up to decent levels is the way to go. With taking each man's lowest rated skill in that group up to 'equal' or so with the other three being the most important first move.
