I am a new manager in Scotland and have not been following our NT until now. I'd like to catch up. So, this is a question for each of the candidates:

How would you outline the operation and performance of our NT over the last 2 terms to me?

Best of luck to all candidates, may the best manager win!

Cheers,
DogNatural.

Hey Dog, I'm glad to see that you've taken an interest. Unfortunately, when I ran for the U21 last season, only 1 person voted, and it was for himself (which is fair enough).

I'm sure you know that German manger S.Bock has been the NT manager for the last 2 seasons and having monitored it, I really think he did a great job. Scotland have been beating teams with many more active teams by a mixture of good management and scouting. The highlight was probably the win over Latvia (WR=36) in the Euro Quals. We're still highly ranked at 56.

Bock did a great round-up job here (88645.1). Thanks to the work by JudgeNik and others on BB Stats, it's also now possible to scout every player in the game without the need of hoards of helpers. That's something I'll be using if successful although I always value other opinions.

An essential thing, which is mostly down to the managers in Scotland (even if they just sell their young ones if not training), is that we really need Scottish players to receive more training for our team to improve. Even though we're a small country, we can definitely compete if we get this training because even if there are 20,000 players, there are only 5 on the court at the same time.

I'm sure you've seen that I am the most experienced of all the managers in contention for the NT job (been here the longest anyway) and I would be delighted to advise you, or anyone else that would like a few tips on building a squad that's great for club and country.

Anyway, the last NT did a great job, and so will I, but an active Scottish league is essential.

Cheers.

i couldnt express it in a better way. bock was the best guy you can get for a job like this. ive been working in his scouting squad two seasons long and think that i´ve learned a lot from him and i will follow his course by choosing the right tactics and putting in the right players (which is possible with my experience; the time how long you´ve been following this game or the succes doesnt say a lot about youre nt managing skills).

i totally agree that we need training for the young scottish talents, which is something that ill be trying to implement with the scotish community.

if there are any unanswered qustions in your mind, just ask them ;)
