There are tons of topics on this subject. The help forum has most of them, but it's also explained in the rules.

Gameshape is the form of the player. The better it is, the better the player will play.
To get a good gameshape, a player must be on the field for 48-90 min. Play too little, gameshape will drop. The same applies to overplaying.

Sometimes you'll see your gameshape drop even though you played 48-90 min. The only explanation for that is that you are training a particular position, Center for instance, and your player played 32 min as center. Gameshape will drop, because of that. Note that this doesn't always apply, since i got a couple of players who played below 48 min on a position and still got proficient gameshape.

If you don't want the gameshape to drop, make sure your players play at least 48 min on the position you want to train him on and make sure he doesn't play over 90 min in total. That way you're sure to know that the players gameshape will be healthy.

You can also 'train' gameshape by selecting [team] - [form] in the drop down boxes in training.

That isn't really the case.

The position a player plays doesn't contribute to Game Shape.

It does, if he gets between than 1-48 min training on the position that you have specified to train. That's from personal experience.. since some of my players keeps getting less than 48 min training on a position with 70 min total played time. Dropped from strong to average. Then one player had the same thing again. Dropped from average to awful. It even happened with 47 min of training and 70 total played time.

If that doesn't say something...

I believe that's more coincidence than anything, as it doesn't happen to me, or any of the other players I track.

It happened like 5 times in a row. Keeps happening too. Can't be as simple as coincidence.
