First question:

Suppose I had a player

jump shot: atrocious
jump range: atrocious
inside shot: atrocious
driving: legendary

Is there a use for his driving?

Second question:

Does good driving help passing?

For example:

Player 1:

Driving: legendary
Passing: legendary

Player 2:
Driving: atrocious
Passing: legendary

Who passes better?

Thanks. :D

Driving: Allows the player to create his own shot without a good pass from a teammate. Better driving creates shots more often and creates better shots on average.
This is what is says in the rules about driving...I don't think it has anything to do with passing. What driving does help with is players getting shots on his own..Just like in the NBA.. You have players who can get open on their own(Iverson, king James, Kobe) and then you have catch and shoot players( Ray Allen, Peja S, Eddie House). This is what driving is.. for example..
I have a player(SG) who has prolific JS and Mediocre DR.. He always hit the shots when he get a pass from another player. When he shoots on his own, not so often..
My SF on the other hand doesn't need a good pass to hit shots.. He JS is proficent and his driving is strong.. He always hits his shots... I hope this helps you...Peace
