Today we play Chile, the largest country in our group by users. Although considerably larger than Canada, our leagues are one year older. So this should be a fun matchup.

Well, that was ugly: (395)

Based on the team ratings, this should have been closer. The matchup ratings are a lot clearer, though. I think foul trouble and the way I had the subs set up led to Joly and Sirois tiring out, but we basically got spanked in all four quarters, so I really don't know.

Next week: Panama. With the big wins of the two previous weeks, a win and we should be through to the next round.

Congrats on the successful campaign! The Chile game was just weird. I guess they just have more of a talent pool to choose from. Which should encourage us Canadians to recruit more people to play!

Their offensive flow killed us. They had 30 assists meaning they took a lot more open shots. We also turned the ball over more. Combine that with the fact that they shut down our guards and small forward (look at their points per 100 shots). Their scoring was more balanced.

That's my simple analysis. Feel free to disagree. ;-)

Still, we're in excellent shape to advance.

Problem is that 2 of our players had to play 48 minutes.

I don't know about the second one, but I know that Joly should not play more than 35-38 minutes, he doesn't have the stamina for it.

See my earlier explanation. That was a problem, but was certainly not the problem. In any case, I learned something about how the game engine manages substitutions in certain situations, so this shouldn't happen again.

Yah, not blaming you, just saying that having 2 players put in 48 minutes can't really help
