I was just wondering why this player http://www.buzzerbeater.com/BBWeb/playerBox.aspx?PlayerID=6454642 Is listed as a small forward when he's always been my starting shooting guard?

And then this player http://www.buzzerbeater.com/BBWeb/playerBox.aspx?PlayerID=4847582 Is listed as a point guard when he plays back up shooting guard.

I suppose none of this matters too much.. But I'm wondering if this has an effect on training in anyway shape or form..?

All help is appreciated, and I'm sorry if there's another topic that basically talks about the same thing, I couldn't find anything about it and apparently you have to have supporter to be able to search the forum.

But then what decides what positions the players get trained at?

If he's listed as a small forward but starts at shooting guard which position would he get trained at?

you, as the manager, set the training type, and what positioins will be trained. If he does not get minutes in the postion that you are training, then he will not get trained
It does not matter if he is "recommended" this or that type player.

Interesting.. Then what happens if a player sits on the bench doesn't play any minutes but is listed as a small forward but I have him as a third string SG?

Training is only based on the # of minutes they actually play at the trained positions. So having him listed doesn't matter if he doesn't play.

What WozZvT said. Your listed position doesn't have anything to do with training.

Jonny... to be clear, the ONLY thing the listed position has an affect (effect?) on is their salary, and that is VERY minimal. The listed position is really only there to help you figure out what a player's best position probably is. Don't put much stock in it...

OK thank you everyone. :)

I usually don't pay attention to the what the listed positions have to say but I just wanted to be sure.
