i have a new team and I have not been able to develope the team the way I want to. what would be a good offense and defense for a new team that does not excell at any specife offensive or defensive category?? would the default offense and defense be the best?

a general rule is : defend where the other team attacks (if he uses mainly run and gun use 1-3-1, if he uses motion use 3-2, look inside 2-3) and attack where you strengths are ( inside, outside, 3 points or 2 points), try to surprise your opponents...
there is no set tactics that will help you as a new team, you have to figure out what your strengths are and compensate for your weaknesses... that's why this is a "strategy" game... try to surprise your opponent and read his next move...

Try first arranging your team. You can do it in your roster page.

Try using the drop down menu and select Inside Shot if 6 of your players top the chart. With mainly average to respectable INSIDE SHOT skill, then your team is a inside team (e.g. Look Inside and Low Post Tactics). Also take consider their other skill stats. And that is up to you. Because if they have respectable Inside Shot but mostly of his skills is atrocious then firing that player would be a good option. For me, i look also for good HANDLING and REBOUND for big players.

If you want outside shooting or shooters well that's a bit tricky one. Because you just cant determine it by a single skill. Like for example JUMPSHOT and JUMPRANGE go hand in hand, also with a bit with HANDLING and INSIDE SHOT. (For my opinion that is HANDLING has an effect in making good Shot, Outside Scoring and Jumpshot that is. Just correct if i am wrong).

Well That's how you pick a GOOD OFFENSE.

For Defense the safest is Man to Man. But if you want all around Def. Then try Training your team with Defenses.
