you dont need to tripple book. when I want my players to play 48 min, i dont add reserves or backups to the line up for the position i want the player to play 48 min at. just make sure you dont have any players set as reserves on other positions.

I also set the game to "strictly follow depth chart" and select let them play in the foul section and it always works for me...

i dont want to be funny, but have a look through my games. unless foul trouble or extreme injuries my players always play 48 minutes. I have been training 6 players a week like this since season 3.

you are right, it isnt a 100% guarantee, but as long nothing crazy happens the players get 48 minutes.

Same situation here, if i set a player as starter, backup and reserve at the same position, he plays 48 minutes.
As you said, you have to select follow strictly your orders, etc but the player usually plays 48 minutes.
Best regards

If you have 10 or more players dressed (does not matter if they are in the lineup or not) and your team is winning in a blowout (more than 20 points up in the 4th quarter)... All Starters WILL be substituted for. You have to have 9 players (or less) dressed in order to attempt to give a player 48 minutes.

I think a lot of people get caught out in that situation.

That´s right, the best situation is to dress 5 guys and if there aren´t injuried or eliminated players all of them are gonna play 48 minutes. But i´ll do it only in a scrimmage.
