I don't think it is a good idea to make it easy to get a specific number of or an optimal number of minutes. To me that takes away from the challenge. I do not want a game where I can say "player A gets 62 minutes this week because that is the optimal minutes per week for game shape." I think that is lame.

If you want a player to get a lot of minutes, there are ways of doing that. Set him as starter backup and third string and have the coach strictly follow depth chart. Unles he fouls out, he'll get 48 minutes.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

i have another thread open on this when everyones saying the opposite.

"In summary: yes, getting 48 minutes in a single game is not 100% guaranteed, and this is by design."
said by another gm about exactly what your saying

I will amend my statement and say that, for me, this has always worked. Whether it is guaranteed or not I do not know, and if someone has an example of this not working I would love to see it. I am not saying the other GM is wrong. I could very easily be wrong. But, it has always worked for me when I was trying to get a guy 48 minutes.

Touché!!!
You ´re right.
Sometimes managers talk to coaches trying to influence them to set a player...Could it be my team?

getting 48 minutes is not guarantee because there are many things that could happen in a game:injuries, fouls, garbage time, freedom of the coach...
Not because the system doesn't work good

Fouls and injuries I agree with. Garbage time and freedom of coach can be eliminated by proper lineup manipulation, in my experience.

Lineup manipulation , even if it's my brand of crazy manipulation, is part of the challenge and fun.
