Well I personally think there is no real problem. If there is more money to be spend, why not spend it? I don't know about other leagues but in my own I think every team keeps growing. So it is only fair that the prices are higher, this is simply a matter of supply and demand.

No, it's not scary. Quality players are supposed to be expensive.

On the other hand, since players are expected to train and sell players, I don't see how this can be a problem. You sell for more, you buy for more.

You are a never ending surprise.
I wonder why the BBs are putting so much effort to make a long term stable economy. Who cares if there is huge inflation followed by huge deflation and so forth. You sell for more, you buy for more... you sell for less, you buy for less, that's it.
-.-

I'm not sure it was necessary to bring such much money to economy.

I actually can't still understand WHY this much money was brought into the game... it was obvious it would have caused such an inflation.

@kozlodoev: you are right that there was ample notice of the upcoming changes... but nobody expected (and we were never told) that the arena attendance would increase for most rather than decrease for few and that the effect on domestic/foreign players would decrease the costs instead of keeping them constant.

There were announced changes but in my opinion there were no need to thing it cause inflation.

On the other hand, because high quality television programming will be available for fans, it will become harder and harder to sell out extremely large arenas, beginning at the start of Season 10. Nobody wants to watch a basketball game in a giant football stadium when they could be enjoying the game in HD at home. When these changes take effect, teams will be allowed to downsize their arenas if they wish and sell the materials they used in construction for the price they paid to construct them.

But reality is that is much more easier to sold out smaller stadiums. And also with well balanced tickets prices teams with large stadiums earn more on gate receipts.
I understand the changes are made for being able to pay the salaries which rises each season. But in my eyes it looks much more money was added to economy than is needed to pay higher salaries.

given that salary will not be directly related to skill.

Is that true? I thought salary would still be related to skill, but just not in the same way as it is now.

No, there is no guarantee a player will increase in salary year over year if he increases in skill.

However, my interpretation is that the salaries will still be skill based. So that, by and large, the players with the highest skills will still have the highest salaries. It is just that the salaries will be "scaled" as they say in the news post, so we will no longer be working with the same scale that we have now. Also, there will be an X factor depending on your division level and (maybe?) country.

so how do we reasonably plan for the next season? if salaries are no longer directly tied to skill (and we managers control skill levels through training), but now are tied to global (or at least national) economic conditions, how do we plan? or are we talking about relatively modest adjustments, say less than 5% fluctuation from what we have grown used to?
