i really do not think it helps, not use of course, but it might even increase the turnover (if handling is low) and lower the fg (if shooting is low). as i said earlier, it is nothing official but my experience.

In my experience driving helps your shooting percentage. The reason why a player with high driving takes more shots is because he is open more often.

The turnover thing is true, though. If your player is driving to the basket often but has low handling, relative to the outside d he is facing, he will turn the ball over more.

Ok, i want an opinion for this player:

Jump Shot: inept Jump Range: atrocious
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: average
Driving: atrocious Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: tremendous Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: sensational Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: average Free Throw: awful

20 y/o. How much important is for him driving? should i sacrifice the big men training giving him some driving? Ok i know that more complete player is better, but 1 or 2 pop ups on driving will make him better player than 1-2 more pop ups on his inside skills?

It all depends what tactics you use and the players that are around him and what level of outside d he is facing from the other C. But for sure, if you want him to be a big part of an inside offense, I would bring his driving up to at least mediocre with some one-on-one training.

If your goal is to sell this guy, though, I might not bother.

no way driving is better for him. this guy needs jumpshot training, clearly. than you might want to train its inside skills. as far as i see, inside shooting is fairly ineffective if jump shot is low. it will also help with your outside tactics, to have your center be able to shoot.

Clearly this guy needs a lot of things, jump shot training included and I don't think I said it was more important to train driving. For example, atrocious outside d is asking for trouble, too.

You can continue to think that driving gives you a lower shooting percentage if you like, I'm just saying that's your interpretation and not everyone's.

My goal for him is to keep him for a long time by the time that i am building my ''dynasty'' in CBBA. I will train big men for an other season and then i will switch to guards couz i want to develop my young SF. Usually i am playing LI, but i want my team to be able to adapt on any opponent. When i am playing outside tactics that guy doesnt score but he rebs and he plays D well.

For the rekord my SF prospect 18 y.o looks like that:

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: inept
Driving: atrocious Passing: pitiful
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: inept

I want to train him an other season as a big man among my other players, and then switch my training to guards. If the right thing is switch my training to wing men, giving them (C and SF) some JS, and DR, i will do it. Then i will train him for lets say half season OD

of course. i am not saying it is absolute truth, there are too many factors on shooting percentage after all.

inside shooting is fairly ineffective if jump shot is low.

Is this really true? This is an honest question and not a challenge. I've understood that the two are separate. JS means mid-range to long range jumpshots. IS means low post to to inside the paint shots (that includes jump shot inside the paint).
