can you also please verify that the fan-survey had the same result in both cases.

There are other factors still that could influence your fan-mood. And fan-mood is a big factor in the calculation. Change of PR man maybe? Other changes to the team that made the fanmood improve?? I don't know, just guessing...

On the other hand, while I lost my previous game (last league game), my attendance didn't realy drop for my PO game. My 2 lowest priced tickets did, but my higher priced tickets sold better, so maybe the system was changed in the past few seasons to indeed attrackt a little more fans for PO games.

I had always been under the impression (and also read about it) that it worked the way I described...

Seeing all the info here, and the info from my game, I am also tempted to believe PO games do attract some more fans. But if you raise ticketprices , fans will punish you for it, no matter which type of game.

i.m.o. ticketprice-raise should only be done in case that type of seat is sold out regularly, and you don't have money available for expanding...

Maybe we should gather some more info about teams that have diffrent types of situations (wins losses before PO, and PO game and all attendances of those games, but only if they didn't buy or sell players and didn't change their prices) to get a more acurate view on the system as it is now.

normally the attendence raise, in the PO so a small drop actually is very big. For my team the difference betwenn winning, and loosing my league game before a game with homecourt could make 10-20% difference in income.

I didn't mean to imply that you were wrong or that your post was a joke. I was merely venting frustration at the system.

It is not logical to me that a Playoff game wouldn't draw more or be worth more to the fans in terms of pricing. It was completely my mistake for having attempted to manage my team logically. Additionally, I did not get back to BB to read your post until it was too late. I didn't read your post until December 1st and as such, my ticket price increase had already gone through.

shame on me.

As for fan mood, my fans are only upset with me because they believe I'm not doing everything I can to improve the team (I get 1 basketball) other than that, they are between 4 and 5 balls across the board which results in a 4.5 basketball rating overall.

I see what you are getting at with your suggestions and I can confirm that:

1. PR manager has NOT changed
2. I have not bought/sold players in the last week. The last time i sold a player was actually before I played that final league game.
3. Fan survey report does not look significantly different between the 2 games. In fact I would argue that its actually marginally worse given that it can be a bit random and "I am pleased with performance this season" has dropped from 4.5 balls to 4 balls and "I am pleased with cup run this season" dropped from 3 to 2.

Maybe are there others with similar examples??

Its definately worth looking into.

My first post here was based on info I gathered around season 4, as far as I remember by a prety thrustworthy GM.
GM's however don't always know everything. In fact they know just as much as anyone else can know, but because GMs tend to read a little more then the average user, they give the impression they know more. ;)

All I say is:
Maybe the GM at that time was wrong (but I doubt this option)
Maybe the system has ben changed over time (which might be the case since BBs have been altering some stuff that had impact on the economy a bunch of times)
Maybe I recalled wrong (also a possibility offcourse)
Maybe something else...

As the info I see now in this thread is contradicting what I always asumed to be true, I think it indeed is valuable to gather more info about this topic.

I can confirm that PO duels sell way more seats than normal. I never lost a single game this season, yet my attendence never rose above 7100~~. Not even when playing against the number 2 or number 1 of the other conference. Now, with the same team/prices/FS, playing against the number 4 team, I got 8500.

There is actually something else going on here. The main factor in your attendance is your fan survey and also your number of season ticket holders. However, there is a small factor for your opponent's season ticket holders and fan survey. That's why, for example, in the cup when you play a division II team that your attendance is lower.

Anyhow, in the playoffs, it is always the top teams playing each other and they generally have pretty high fan surveys and season ticket holders. So that's why you sell more tickets in the playoffs.

At least, that's my understanding.

Not entirely true, I met (as everyone else does) the 4nd ranked team also during the regular season, the number of tickets sold then was 7000 compared to 8400 in the playoffs. The number of season ticket holders and the fan survey did not change, nor did the ticket prices.

but you got more visitors then in the regular season, also the relegation match seems to be good visited(and don't say that both teams there are succesfull).

And the numbr of season ticket holders plays no role in my league, because nearly all team have the same amount.

I can see 1 reason why we get more fans now, while the attendace for PO is still the same as for league games.

What if the season ticket holders number changes ?

The way I understood a long time ago (but that was before the fan survey) this number was changing trough the season, but the number you see is the one at the start of the season.

Maybe this number gets a big boost if your team reaches the POs. Since both teams reach the POs, both get a boost, which results in a significant difference in attendance during the POs...

Now that I start thinking about that posibility. I think to remember that last 2 seasons indeed PO attendance was higher, but also the games in the new season took over those numbers, meaning the league games of the new season will not get back to the number of spectators from before the POs... (except maybe in the first 2 games...)

Let's all keep an eye on this? Let's watch what attendances we will get after the POs in the new season.

that mostly the case, because you are over the cap, on the expensiv seats you got a good boost ;)

I blechers move up from 11k to 15k, and hey i didn't reduce the prices they are the maximum prices and the opponent was also the same(win before was also given)

I can tell you, that the number of my season ticket holders are nearly the same, since three season. So it must go down again, when you fell out or win the PO(and relegation also gives the same temporary boost).
