I just bought a level 5 trainer with wages around $40k (pretty fair) for just $2k. Yes, 2k. Probably I was a bit lucky, I guess, but it also demanded lots of patience until this guy appeared when probably few people were logged on. I looked for a new lvl 5 coach for about 2 months. But my patience was worthwhile.
I am in Brazilian First Division, so TV and merchandising incomes have been pretty high, and getting higher little by little, which compensates the rising of the wages of the coach. So it is not being a problem economically, I think the biggest problem regarding this system of rising wages is just that it is not realistic at all. At least for my team, which is in first division. I cannot talk for teams on lower divisions.

You was not lucky.40k salary for a member of the staff, especially if he isn't at the best level, it's a too high weight to carry on own finanical balance for the major part of the teams. We was talking about the price of trainers with a reasonable level of salary (at max around 25k/week or less)
P.S. Your Tv and mercahndising incomes will not raise for ever, your trainer salary yes

Another road to Rome (although with my skills, I will probably end up in Tunis):

I am a marginal div. iii team who decided to raise an entire squad to a certain base levels -- have been at this for two seasons, and some of my role players and 6th men are getting long in the tooth (24, 25 years old). But I am trying to develop a highly skilled core of players (21, 20, 19, 19, and 19) over the next three seasons or so. So I've hit my last TL for a while, and dropped a bundle on a level 5 trainer. I paid several hundred thousand for a guy with a salary under $20,000. When he hits $40,000, his time is done -- .

Now let me check that map -- when I get to that river Rubicon, I keep going south, right . . . ?

The costs of specialist is simply a mirror of the global BB economy, if one day there will be less money to spend you will see the specialists cost go down, it's easy to explain. Then if you ask what I personally think about specialists I can say that no one worth 1$, I'm still convinced that the specialist were introduced only to go out money from the circle

You dont believe that specialist are more worth that other staffs?
Maybe they are overvalued but I dont believe they are worth the same, if they contribute to a better team they must cost something. Do you believe that they have no effect?

The PR for sure doesn't worth 1 euro. I've keeped the max lvl for more than 1 season (lvl 10 changed in lvl 5) but I didn't see any difference when I fired him. The other specialists imho are quite useless too but as I don't want to see a black cat in front of my car I prefer to not have a lvl 1 as doc even if I keeped one for some weeks in the past

Ned is saying only that the problem of the staff prices is not a real problem. There are people with the money that like to spend very much for an high level trainer. If they'll have less money, the prices of the specialists(mainly trainers) will go down
I think that a medium level trainer however worked well, and for the prices that there are now in the market, has a better cost/efficiency level.
The BBs clearly said that the change in specialist system was made to remove some money in circle, you can like/dislike it,but it the system have sense and worked well

Also because there are no other way to put your money excluding the market. My arena is "capped" and the only way to spend money for me is to buy players or specialists

oh, when you are talking about specialist you are talking about staff? I thought a specialist was a staff member with a specialty e. g. a level 3 doctor with massage. Well okay, maybe I should fire my PR-guy.
