-I'm never training OD again, if i need more outside D i'm going to purchase a player that has it.
-really high JS and IS are alot more 'friendlier' on a players salary then OD or ID.
-On the transfer list, players with extremely high scoring ratings (JS, JR, IS) go for a lot more then players with the same
ratings in OD and ID.
-T.I.Eing improves defensive ratings more then Off, thus a team with the best offense in the league will be in good shape , after TIEing a lot throughout the season, come playoff time.


- OD and JR are the slowest skills to be trained so I could agree with you
- No, JR in combination with good JS is a skill killer under the point of view of the salary
- Dunno if you mean lvl of skill or % of baskets done; due to the fact that OD is very slow I prefer to pay a little bit more a good skilled player in OD instead of JR (or JS), if you mean % of baskets done it depends a lot of the opponent you've to face so that case % are useless
- Don't care about the ratings at the end of the matches

While is truth that my D aint the best believe me i am working hard on it (big men that i am training). By comparison IS vs ID my 4 rotation big men have the follow: player A 12-10 (expecting pop up on ID this week) player B 13-9 (maybe a pop up on ID too, but old player), player C 14-13 player D 13-12 (pop up again this week on ID). My SF actually can D better than can shoot by 2 pop ups. So as you can see i am keeping some good balance between shooting/defense.

Just looking through a couple of your games Spumante, I can't find any where you had dominant defense.

Check out Heathens in NBBA, being able to have prolific OD ratings with m2m can get you somewhere.

Im sorry, but whats the point of your message?

To be honest your post is not interesting since you didnt post what skill in OD had your players. Whats a high OD for you?

I think you are TOTALLY wrong.

Look on NBBA the team Heathens, is the team you just described and he is having a great success on Cup/league.
Also on NT high OD's also work really nice.

I was thinking the exact same as Jelme, constant Mediocre Outside D is just asking to be dominated in II even III. I would rebuild your team with a goal of increasing those ratings or you will even find your return to DIII next season challenging.

Haha, maybe. Maybe not. I'm not saying that you dont need good defense. I'm saying you're better off buying it then training it. Maybe i'll get demoted to your league and we can test out the theory.

I spent the last 2 seasons trying to compete in U.S. Div II, where i already knew i was over matched. But, being the basketball purest i am i wanted to try to compete with Defense Particularly OD. i spent a large portion of the last 2 season training OD and ID, one position training, rotating my entire team through the training position.


Short question about your training, did you really rotate your complete team through it? So training your C in OD etc., and rotating your guards to ID as a center? Or did you do it with PG/SG/SF on OD and SF/PF/C on ID and are they still young?

As i said that dont have dominant defense, but i have D. You have to put on the account that being the strongest team in my league i am playing lots of games with my subs, and TIE, so lots of teams doesnt face my best players.

You have a very bad perimetral offense,average with a 3-2 defence is a low value(many teams in Iv italian division has a better defence that you)
I don't know how it is possible you were promoted in II division with that defence,you was lucky at that time

See, this is weird, because I feel I've won because of defense. I got killed in DII last season, but I had a weakened roster due to transfer flubs and overhauls. But, look at this season, and my other three season in DIII, and even way back when I was in D.IV...

POINTS ALLOWED. Seasons 7,8,9, and now 11, I have led the league in fewest points allowed. My record over this time, 79-8. I've trained OD and ID a lot over this time, and I'm training OD as we speak actually. I've gone with the approach of offensive balance, tough defense and team rebounding, and I think my results have been pretty good.

Now, I don't think you see it in the ratings as much as you do, JS or PS etc. , but if you pay attention to your opponents FG% that's where you see the difference. Also, having a solid defensive team means you can play m2m for anything. I rarely deviate from m2m.
