This week's rookie rankings are out:
(http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0Ap-ztFnWrTG_dFRKN...)Taking our resident statician's advice, I got the average minutes played for rookies, and put them into two groups: above the average and below. They are then ranked according to what I'm calling their PER48 score: P/48,A/48,R/48,S/48 totals - turnovers.
Hopefully, this gives a more accurate view of our new players.
Hubert Corcoran has moved on, so there was room for a new leader among the first-year players, and the Magic's Jeremy Souza was happy to oblige. He's averaging 28-5-6 per 48 and is impressing the Magic coaches with his play. Tachenko's Dwain Higginbotham is also moving up the ranks, getting solid minutes this week and delivering for the Big 8 club.
It's interesting to me that of nearly all the teams with rookies in the rankings are very much in the playoff chase. So, these players are getting time on the floor and not hurting their team's performance.
