I thnk it is not about draftees or about whos in the top. It is not that simple. There is probably some kind of fine line between-

I am familiar with the star players, and am not afraid that they will be transferred

and

The general manager is doing everything he can to try to improve the team

So if you will be active by trading your players, fans will appreciate that as well as they will dont like it (because theirs stars are sold) at the same time. Its some kind of twisted mechanism which will be satisfied one way or another, however I think that you can get harmed this way if you will show players on TL often, however will not sell anybody. Because thats the attempt for sale, but still you didnt do everything you can to improve the team.

In order to have it that way, is necessary to have here something which will punish you for transfers which didnt happen. But this suggestion is trying to avoid this as well as isnt mentioning draftees at all.

Well, what you can do, it would suck if there would be a place for unharm transfer listing, but I think that it is understandable that everyone is trying to have as much balls as possible.

So maybe, if the results are doing fine for you and there are defined untouchable "star" players which pissed blood for such result, might happen that their behaviour would change somehow if they see so many transfer-listed colleagues, maybe their GS could not rise so much because of lack of the motivation or they would demand more money, to take something from such club (TL isnt something which fan is looking into, it is internal thing). Hard to say.

the team capitian isn't usually a star player in basketball(often they are just benchplayers who are liked by their teamates or who a good at organizing things), normally stars are crowned by the public because of good games.

I like the idea of team overviews featuring three "most dangerous/popular/etc." players - but these overviews being generated by BB (based on statistically determined value of contribution), to keep owners from gaming the system. Have the fan survey be weighted more strongly towards these players (although constant transfers can still irritate them) - and as a bonus, it gives each team more of an identity and gives star players recognition.

You can even have it as..something like this.

Player A. Has been on the team for 5+ season "fans have grown attached to this player and consider him an asset"(obviously has to be good statistically too)

Player B. ha just joined the team "fans dont really care for this player, and know little about him"

Players you draft for your team can have more added value. Something like

A. "as a fan I followed this guy all through college and love that we drafted him"

But you can also have no penalty for selling/cutting your drafted players aslong as they dont see playing time in any type of game.

Basically this would help with just "flipping" players too. If you flip a lot this wouldnt effect you as much now since the fans werent able to get attached that much, but there is a limit.

How do you know this isn't already the case?

Read about the merchandise income.

Standing out players or draftees that turned out good to name a couple of exemples will increase your income (and you'll lose that extra income if you sell them).
It's very similar to what you suggest in your last post and it's already in the game.

I find that people look too closely at the fan survey and go berserk when they have a tiny half ball somewhere, frequently in the "I am familiar with the stars players..." when ultimately only the general "All things considered..." matters and it usually remains stable.
Not all the questions are equally important in the survey, the last two I believe are marginal unless you work overtime on the TL.
