I somehow doubt that there is going to be a bot winner of the cup, there are quite a few of us still in that actually want to win it, especially the ever-dangerous Inebriated All-Starz...

As for the issue of the bots, it does seem to be a particularly important one in the English leagues, where there are enough active teams to fill 2 and a bit levels of league and we have 4. However, they all get pushed down and re-sorted at the end of the season, and at the end of the day the whole game is only in season 4, the English leagues having only been introduced in season 2, so there's always going to be a bit of a settling period before everything seems "sensible", in terms of who "should" win and who actually does.

Just be patient! I've only been playing this game for just over a season and I think it's great! I came over from Hattrick and think this is much more fun, it's a more open game and the presentation is fantastic. I just hope I can stay in the upper echelons for seasons to come, as any manager would want for their team :D

I felt this post was worth responding to for a number of reasons:

1. The ratings were inflated because of the length of the game (3OT).

2. You lost because you didn't bother to scout your opponent. A simple 3-2 zone could have done you wonders, and likely saved you from overtime, losing, and starting this thread to complain about it all.

3. When claiming the developers haven't put enough effort into the game, you fail to recognize this team: BB Test Team (23509)

4. If you think that there are problems with bots being too strong, may I direct you to the Suggestions forum: (3910.1)

5a. You are having economy problems partly because your team salaries are rather high. $53,000+/wk is a pretty hefty salary for a new team to handle, particularly in div IV. You could cut 3-4k off your salaries by selling/firing your two worst players (the two guys in awful game shape because they never play), thereby trimming your roster to 14.

5b. You have a hefty salary because you hit the jackpot! You lucked into a pretty spectacular team of good young inside players that you can easily continue to improve. Manage them well and you should be in division III in no time.

6. If you ever need help either scouting your opponents or managing your finances, this forum and the Help forum are good places to start. If you would prefer, feel free to shoot me a BB-mail, and I wouldn't mind helping however I could.

They're not exactly a bot. They were given a new owner at the end of last season (they started the 22nd game of the season). Based on their record, they promoted to D.II, and have since gone ownerless. It's not clear whether the owner re-arranged the lineup, or made any adjustments.

While they don't appear to have any great players, they do appear to have pretty good balance and depth.

Since they are unowned, they put the same players out every week, and you should have realized that they were much better from the outside than inside. Simply have better defensive guards, or playing a 3-2 or 1-3-1 and you would have won handily.

In my opinion, to have competitive bots is something good for the game.
Because the goal of playing is "to play", playing against very weak opponente is really boring.
Of course, I can understand the feeling of losing with a bot, so you "logically" overreacted.
I think people who answer these very frequent messages should help to calm down and not get angry because he is angry, throwing more petrol on the fire.

wow! what a rant!

moral lesson, we get frustrated is good meaning you care but sometimes we let emotions get the best of us.

like me when i lost the first round of the playoffs, i even said im going to sell the whole team.

just take it easy! we all are still learning! yes losing sucks but with it we become winners. i mean come on your playing this game for free ! its free no joining fee . . so lets see that at a bright side.

and lastly lets take it easy on the blame thing, you can rant all you want but to criticize something you dont understand seems really over board since as i said this is free. :D
