To get the right minutes for GS perhaps. A backup probably wouldn't get enough minutes in league games.

That would make complete sense if he was actually managing minutes.

Instead he plays all his players every game, the guy in question already had already played 49 minutes for the week. Another guy I looked at (not the guy's sub) played over 90 minutes.

But in his defense, he obviously didn't know that injuries could happen in scrimmages.

I was trying to maintain training and gameshape. I have had injuries during cup and scrimmage games before but my guys were never out for more than that one game so i guess i was jusst lucky. Truthfully i didnt get into this game that much till about 4 seasons ago.

I guess this is just one of those things i over looked. And i can start another guy who is qctually probably better but i wont have maybe one backup for 2 positions now. Kit change myntraining and not scrimmage this week.

Yeah. They suck.

I don't really get them either. They never ever happen in real life. Seriously, when is the last time you've heard someone getting injured in a practice scrimmage. NEVER.

The BBs should disable injuries for scrimmages or make them completely freak, 1 in a million type of injuries. It's a SCRIMMAGE, the players shouldn't be playing with much effort, it's ridiculous that flagrant fouls and whatnot are in scrimmages and injuries players.

Players get injured in pick up games, exhibition games and even practice. It might happen less frequently but it's borderline ridiculous to say it never happens in real life.

See Boozer, Carlos and Ellis, Monta.

People can get injured anytime, anyplace.

Boozer was never injured in practice. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Ellis had a freak injury in practice...guess how many games he missed? ZERO.

He only missed a few practices. There is not much intensity to practice games, there really is no reason for 2 week injuries to be happening in scrimmages.

My point exactly. Sometimes it doesn't even take practice or scrimmage to get hurt. Stairs, showers, cutting veggies in the kitchen... all are injuries waiting to happen.

Plus, if there is no intensity in scrimmages, how is it developing a professional athlete? If you want training minutes to be useful, you can't just dog it.

A weight lifter can't press 10 pounds in practice and call it training for an event where he has to lift 400 pounds.
A sprinter can't run a 20 second 100m in practice and call it training for an event where he has to run 10 seconds.

Training = chance for injury.

You can't have it both ways. Don't play your guy in scrimmages and only play him in games that matter. Therefore, only expect him to get the benefits from those games and no practices/scrimmages.

(edit - question mark)

Boozer was injured in the preseason last season. Fractured his hand.

DWade was injured in a preseason game last year and missed a couple of weeks. It happened early enough that he didn't miss any regular season games.

Jerebko for the Pistons missed the entire season after a ruptured Achilles Tendon in the first preseason game.

The point is, injuries don't just occur in 'real' games.
