sometimes some stats can give an indication of a lacking of skill.

eg: 7 turnovers, or 1-8 FT shooting. these m ight indicate low handling/passing or Free throw.

Also, if you have say a 6'2 C, his box score may also give an indication to his actual abilities that are causing him to classified as a centre.

eg: 6'2 C, who gets 13 rebounds, is probably high in rebounding.

its only ever an indication though and shouldnt be read as gospel.

I had the same dilemma as you, as I was contemplating drafting a 5 star A+ with low potential. He turned up at the start of the season like this:

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: respectable
Driving: inept Passing: awful
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: average Free Throw: strong

Now more than half season into it...

Ko Guo Quiang (23029149)
Power Forward
Owner: Likas Internets

Weekly salary: $ 4 520
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 58600
Age: 18
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: star
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: strong ↑ Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: prominent
Driving: proficient ↑ Passing: awful
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: average Free Throw: strong

Experience: atrocious

He will probably cap in a few seasons... but I think he will be a great backup for my team, and I don't intend to fill my roster with salary heavy guys anyway.
