To be annoying... I promoted to the ABBL in 7 seasons... yoda made it in 8..

You also promoted to the ABBL after your 7th season!

Koop did it in his 6th seasons!

But yoda is the younger team!

And to be exactly fair:

Koop promoted via a massive case of luck.

I would have promoted after 5 seasons if WA didn't land in my D2 league. Would have been 6 seasons if Crushers didn't land in my league.....

Yes it is all a matter of luck. I did take one more season but lost two entire seasons thanks to Bryce Gibbs making it his personal mission to send me back to division III, the all eggs in one basket strategy with a constantly broken basket and the crash in player values that had me on the wrong side of the curve.

Looking at the next lot of teams most likely to promote it is great to see a couple more young teams with a good chance.

Well known fact that Koop is the luckiest team in Australian BB history.

think about it... lucky once or twice fair enough.. but I cant be lucky all the time...
you guys make it out like I pull a white rabbit out of a hat every time something big is on the line.

Beyond lucky, it was totally incredile.

1) Season 14 made it to finals series where he should get smashed, his opponent totally stuffed up both his tactics and GS and somehow Koop the 100:1 underdog won.

2) Season 15 would have been in 8th facing auto-relegation but an ABBL team went bot. Theninto the relegation series where he should also have been smashed. Game One he was destroyed. Game two his opponent foolishly milked him for extra income. Game three is legendary in BB history. One minute in Skaistutis Urnežas his opponents best player and the focus of his offence is injured 1 minute into the game. For the rest of the game SBV is slamming against Koops 2/3 zone with a 10k scrub as his C. Koops players are all on fire and Wazza has the best game of his entire career and Koop somehow comes up with the most unlikely 2 point win in Aussie BB history.

3) Season 16 Koop gets ANOTHER bot in his conference to keep him around. Adam decides to tank despite the BOT. There is a Avalon going BOT on the other side as well and Doncaster is asleep at the wheel. He beats the bots but looks like heading into a nasty relegation series with Hopelessly Addicted when Whitebeard throws him the last game of the season and he squeaks into 5th with the record of 8 wins -392 PD, surely the worst 5th record ever in the ABBL. For example this season with 5 games to go 6th has a better record than that!

But to be fair Koop always said that you have to put yourself in the situation where if you have a little luck good things happen.

Not putting down your abilities as a manager we know that you are good but it is all stats. Someone must be lucky all the time. There are 50,000 managers, there will be someone who has always had a level 1 doctor and never had an injury and wonders why everyone else bothers and there will be someone with a level 6 who has his whole roster inured every season. It is simple stats.

If you don't roll the dice you can't win. You roll the dice, and that is your skill, the fact that they come up well every time is luck.

well well well there is always two sides to a fable...

1) Season 14... true there was luck, but I put my team in the best possible position to pull off an unlikely series win. I came in the finals with better enthusiasm, better gameshape and some might say better tactics. Meteors might have stuffed up but maybe it was because he was nervous about playing me and that caused him to make a few mistakes that he wouldnt have normally made.

2) Season 15... thats not luck, thats adapting to the new environment and making it work for you. Everyone else knew there were going to be bots that season, they could've planned accordingly to take advantage of the situation too. Not my fault they sold themselves short and lost a relegation series they should've won convincingly.

3) Season 16... again everyone was aware of the bots during the season and they couldve planned for it. They didnt, I did and I came 5th. And whitebeard did not throw the last game of the season... hahah so so exaggerated!! (33057878) "Koopasaurus looked like the only team trying out there." Even if whitebeard played normal or CT, he wouldve lost to me anyways cos of pure "luck" =P Are you trying to open a can of worms here by saying me and whitebeard conspired to get me that 5th spot? kekeke

To keep it concise. its not a case of luck, its just called being smart... if you are being chased in the woods by a hungry bear, you only have to run faster then the slowest guy to escape. That is exactly what I have done in each and every season.

thats why some of the BB'ers call me Koopasoarass.
Look, I'll spend that 100k and change my team name to that if I win the ABBL this season okay fellas.
