Also the coach tends to set lineups similar to your previous games with Strictly Follow Depth Chart. At least that's what I've experienced...

he didn't orientate at previous weird trainingslineup from me, and have other measurement at the SF position so i would say it is indepent from your previous lineups. And i usually play it in PL and BBB, so i think i am quite experienced blank lineup user.

And i got such weird result only when i forget to change it to let coach decide, and still have the standard follow depth chart in it.

I've never played blank lineup with let coach decide before but could it be that the coach decides on matchups?

For an instance, the opponent's PG has very high OD but weak ID, and none of your players, even your best PG does not have good enough outside skills to overcome that OD of his, so knowing that your PG won't be able to handle that OD and playing him against the opponent's PG will be a sure lose, your coach takes the risk and decides to put a C with strong inside skills hoping that your C will be able to beat him with his inside skills? Since that's the only weak point of opponent's PG that you can tackle with your players?

On the other hand, if your PG is good enough to handle the opponent's PG on the outside, then your coach decides to put him in since that would be the best lineup.

This is just a thought of mine, not really sure about it though.

You could experiment, once your out of the Cup tournament, in scrimmage games.

If I want to mess up the gameshape of my players, sure.

I tried Coach Picks from Depth Chart and my order was respected except for the PG where there is a huge difference in skills ($120k - 5k). Even the SG order was fine where the difference is $120k to $60k.

Blank lineup with let coach decide is cool :)
I played that a lot this season... Since i fired my coach and my trainees...
Maybe even all the games this season :D
I keep playing it, even though i lose a lot...
I belive it helps and that playing it is the best option since i have no training minutes to worry about.
I hope my super cheap coach knows what hes doing lol

I have had the exact same thing. My default is "strictly follow depth chart" and I played a few PL games with the blank lineup and "Let coach decide" and it was fine. Then one week I forgot to switch and played with "Strictly Follow Depth Chart" and it was the most stupid game ever.

So if you are trying to win a game at any costs, the best option is to use a blank line up, and to use the let coach decide tactic? I also assume this means no set starters or backups.

Well, if you set starters or backups, it isn't blank :D

I think so. Let Coach Decide, and don't set starters and backups. Leave all ten spaces blank. And leave all the 'I want my ___ to defend as ___' blank also. Let the Coach decide defensive match ups too. Just select the players you want in the game in the upper box.
