Sipko Kamphuis (20812410) v. Luis Garvi (22158628)

I'm not trying to pick on Sipko or his owner here, (he is just on the FA market so he's the only guy with numbers I can see). Hopefully though this can show Garvi has earned a spot on this team somewhere.

Sipko brings a very respectable 11, 13, 14 here in Ins. shot, Reb. & Ins. Def. respectively 45 total in the four big man stats, (Blks includes with the other 3), and 75 total amongst the 10 player characterics, (not including GS & Exp.).

Garvi is not as back heavy on the Ins. D but brings 11, 11, 9, 9, for 40 across the bigs man stats, (Ins. Shot, Reb., Ins. D & BlK respectively) but brings with him a total 96 total amongst the 10 player characteristics (including a 10 at J. Shot Sipko's next best secondary at J. Shot being a 7).

Last week Garvi started at C against this guy, Adamantios Kiousis (11976714) 28 y/o 78k salary Hall of Fame calibre guy. Garvi finished with 14 points 14 rebs. & a rating of 11.5.... this from a kid making 16k a week.

I prefer well rounded players and Sipko certainly isn't one of those with 2 atrocious skills including passing. And salary is never the best way to determind who is the best player.

Here's Sipko. (20812410)

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: inept
Driving: atrocious Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: wondrous
Rebounding: tremendous Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: inept

What do all of Garvi's skills look like? Can you cut and paste them?

Either way he looks like a definite U21 player next season.

A discussion like this is better suited for the offsite forum, sign up and BBmail myself so we can have a more indepth discussion there. Dont know if there are any spies lurking ;)

Garvi currently:

Jump Shot: prominent - Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: respectable - Handling: strong
Driving: mediocre - Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: prolific - Inside Def.: proficient
Rebounding: prolific - Shot Blocking: proficient
Stamina: strong - Free Throw: inept

I just signed up for the offsite but as of the moment I do not mind putting Garvi's info up here. I just want to put a couple of disclaimers on here, I'm not saying Sipko does not belong on the team, (like I said he's just the only one I can see so I am just using him as a yardstick). Also I have no issue with the U21 manager, I like Mod and even if Garvi weren't on the team next year I'd still support him, (I voted for him this season).

I'm just biased towards my guy and genuinely think he belongs on the squad, it's a pride thing to think he could get on there at 20 instead of just his last year of eligibility at 21, (currently the squad only has one kid 20 y/o).

IMO, Garvi is a much better player than Sipko. He'd definitely play ahead of Sipko in my lineup. He'd even work as a SF in an inside based offense. He'd dominate in that spot because most U21 teams are playing SG's who are incapable of guarding inside players at the SF spot.

For sure... That's been the key of my sales pitch thus far, he makes match up difficulties at the 4 in an Outside offense or at the 3 in an Inside offense.

Efthimis Charamoglou ((22159517)) I have this PG that might be interesting for the U21. If you want to know his skill levels, please contact me!

I get a skill count of 84, not 96. Just saying. I think he's awesome and love well rounded players. He's not, however, ready for U21.
