Fact remains, if you're going to sue real basketball logic: Thug. Most important person on team
You can win without scorers, you can win without rebounding well, you can win without a dunker.

But you can not win, if the other team, can bully you around, do whatever they want on offense, or defense, and do whatever, without fear of REAL hard foul, or cheap shot, or a pick they run into that hurts, etc. You need a thug.

Even movies of kids in b-ball cover it. Rebound, with martin lawrence, the fat girl was a thug. Much more important than the scorer, or the yeti center kid.

I got the leader; Henrique Forjaz. Most complete guy on the team. For me. 1 day he blocked like, 6 times! And he can rebound/score. Can play defense. He's like my MVP right now. Remember Zoran Jakovic??? He's my best guy ever! He holds top on ALL of the records set, he has 4/5 of scoring records, and he scored the most points on my team-44. I regret selling him. He was a cheap guy, but he has heart for this game. Real heart and soul, and determination.

I REGRET SELLING HIM

Well, everyone got their own style. That's what makes this game fun. For you it's defense. For me, it's racking up the points/defense a tad bit.

I disagree with your first point, I agree with the second point. Just having defense without offense won't win you nothing. Offense and defense are equally important. But the second point is true, offense DOES cost a lot more to field than defense in this game...

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.
Offense also costs a lot more to field then what defense does in this game

As important as that is the notion that offense can be weak in some positions as long as those players can at least handle and pass the ball, but a weakness on defense can be devastating.

Not necessarily. What you are saying is true only if the opponent has good OFFENSE at every position. Otherwise a few weaknesses in defense ain't devastating either.

One strong offensive player matched up against one weak defender can go a long way, though. There are of course ways of trying to hide weaker defenders and it's fair to say that a single hole on defense isn't necessarily a decisive advantage, but it's definitely something that can have a huge impact on a game.

I have learned the hard way at times, especially in BB that whatever division leading team with the best DEFENSE, will have the advantage over a team running away with it offensively. That high powered offense will not overpower that leading defense.(it actually makes for a good game to watch).

And with the scoring team not being able to work as smoothly, every possession is at a premium, and that offensive team may not have the experience to keep it together.
Basically any team that LeBron James has been on, if you are looking for a reference....a true one.
