What is your source for this?

Regardless, TIE vs CT will give that message - period.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

I believe his source was this:

That is at least how they presented it: You will know if your oponent put more, less or equally much effort into a game, but you will not know how much more or less.

If they have different phrases for different CT / TIE / Normal combinations then you will indeed know how much more or less effort was put into the game. No?

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

I looked up from the announcement and it says that:

Because Take it Easy and Crunch Time no longer directly influence the team ratings, we will instead report on the boxscore which team tried harder, or whether they tried equally hard. If you find out that the home team tried somewhat harder than the away team, you will not know whether it means the home team was playing Crunch Time against Normal or whether the home team was playing Normal against Take it Easy, although if one of the teams is your own, it's pretty easy to figure out.

Thus they do not explicitely say that it will be different texts for TIE vs Normal and TIE vs CT. However, as they explain that you will not be able to see the difference between TIE vs Normal and Normal vs CT, but do not say the same about TIE vs Normal and TIE vs CT, it is likely that there is a difference between these.

Likely is not the same as certain, and you seem to be certain, but do not give any motivation for being certain, so it would be interesting to se your source.

It is obvious, when there is 1 level difference there will be messages like tried harder etc. Those would be CT-normal and normal-easy. And when there is 2 level difference the message is different saying xx was the only team who tried (logical eh?) when you have CT-TIE it is quite obvious that only 1 team was really trying.

As I said it is likely and as you said it is logical, but that does not mean that it is prooven. There has been no official statement confirming it (that I have seen) nor any major investigation made (that I have seen).

For those of you that have played HT, you might have seen the mythbusting thread and specifically the clown issue. For many years it was cnsidered a true that "clowns" worked, it was even inludd in the rules (even though it was not refered to as clowns), however I never trusted that, as I could not see any proof of it having an effect (thus I have never had a clown), and now finally it is stated that they actually dont.

For now I will keep using the information as something that is "likely" to be true.
