Looking forward to this game, after our performance last week and looking at Portugal's game last week I think we could possibly cause an upset. A couple of new players have been added to the team so I hope that the players in the squad now can retain a good GS so we can push on from now.

England U21 99-103 Portugal U21

The game was unbelievably tight throughout the final quarter but we come out wth an unlucky L. We couldn't gain the lead down the stretch which is a killer. I really hoped we could win the game and pull off a mini upset.

Gamage had the game of his life going 6/6 from 3 going for 36 points. Searle also had it going from 3 off the bench making 3/5 from downtown.

We had trouble rebounding against their higher salaried bigs in which I looked more into stopping them defensivly inside rather than rebounding. Also young Brodie and Sihota had quite a few turnovers that hurt which I will take into consideration for next weeks game against Switzerland.

All in all, I'm quite pleased with the performance despite the result. Portugal hit many clutch free throws in the last minute to clinch the game and did an outstanding job of hitting them all the way through the game. I knew this season was going to be difficult, especially having a weak 21y/o class so we have a lot of 20y/o players that are building towards next season.

Got a lot better GS this week, great job coaches

Could be interesting game this week against Switzerland, similar salarys for players. However, the easy start they've had means they will mostly likely have better enthusiasm which makes it harder for us. Looking for our 1st win Monday, gonna be another close game

England U21 94-102 Switzerland U21

Disappointed with the loss, thought I could have had my first win but it wan't to be.

A lack of the ability to score down the strech cost us, we only scored 1 point in the last 2:41 when it was a tied game. It was a close game throughout despite a mini run from them in the 3rd which we managed to pull back before the end of the quarter.

20 y/o Mulrain was dominant in the game with 31 points, 28 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block. He will be a great player for the U21 team over this season and next. Gamage again had a solid game with 11 points and 8 assists as well as Brodie getting 15 and 9. I think one of the issues in this game was the production off the bench, they combined for only 11 points and 11 rebounds while 3 of them failed to score a FG. However, MacPhorich who again is only 20 y/o led the bench with 6 points and 2 rebounds showing promise for next season. Another issue that showed was the efficiency in scoring. We shot 36-87 which isn't really good enough to win games, especially when only shooting 10 3s. Free throws also hurt us going 20-31.

Now for the positives. We had 25 assists on 37 made baskets which i like as we don't have many players who can score on their own accord. Also we dominated the boards with a +20 advantage, even with our young front court.

We have a very tough game next week against Lithania who are ranked 4th in the world so don't expect any miracles there. The last 3 games that follow all the winnable so hopefully we can finish the season strong and move on to next season.

Another close one. I think the good thing is at least we're competing. I think your assessment of the game is spot on and also agree about the games that are coming up.

Well they do train faster than 21yo ;). Does anyone know if NT games count towards player experience?
