What you lose on price of purchase late in the season, you save on paying the salary for the rest of the season. 11 weeks of a gun C/PF salary is worth waiting on if you don't need it until playoffs. That's where the imbalance is created.

I don't really understand that logic.
Supermarkets sell out of chicken wings before the super bowl. Stores sell out of presents before Christmas. Just because it is a known fact doesn't mean that market inefficiency will not exist.
As I said in my previous post there are certain market conditions that exist during these time periods that don't exist at other times during the season.
