22 season, WOW :o

If my math is right, that's 220 weeks, over 4 years, that's crazy. Congrats on finally getting out of there and welcome to your new home, hopefully for less than 22 seasons though ;)

We’re also planning a couple of changes next season which are worth mentioning now. (...) Teams that have amassed extremely large sums of money will be taxed to disincentivize hoarding. More details to come next season.

I don't like the sound of this

1) Will there be an explosion of transfer prices? Are there so many teams sitting on cash that it would affect the economy? If so, would it be worth stockpiling a bunch of random players to sell next year? What sorts of players would those be?
2) As an absentee buzzerbeater owner, I don't pay much attention to global forums etc. anymore. Has there been public discussion about this? It's always been an "issue" that existed but didn't matter. Why act now?

Does not seem fair at all to disciplined players who don't splurge season after season. I know players whom have a ton of money and have done it through saving. Not scalping bad players to new users.

I really think this is only going to affect owners with 20 mill plus in the bank. If you happen to have twenty mill and you get taxed 10% who gives a shit. I think peeps are making a mountain out of a pile.

A very good 1st week with another surprising win at the buzzer tonight. What's done is done. :)

If Yuck is right, then yea, it'll likely never effect me or anyone I know. Doesn't make it right, but my worry level will significantly decrease about it. But that's assuming he is right. We'll have to stay tuned to find out I suppose. I never carry that much either. The most I've had is in the 3 millions.

No matter how much or what percent it affects everyone equally. It's just another obstacle. Another layer in the game. The only obstacle I can't stand is the insane amount of real life time it takes to train a player. Actual years is just lunacy.

Well, the only reason I've got to play this game anymore is the $12M I saved up to go with the 3 guys I've been training for two real life years... so if every other half-active micronation richie-rich is summarily forced to blow their savings simultaneously, I might as well quit now. Assuming there actually are any!

From a fundamental standpoint on where I stand on real life issues, I believe that is unfair. You earned and saved that money fairly, within the rules (I assume), but now you're in danger of losing it. To some, its not big deal, to me, its not right. Just how you view things. This game takes some strange steps to regulate the economy in the game it seems.

i see your point, but from my perspective, i hate to see people buy championships. but i won't fall on my sword on that point -- i'm with Yuck, give us the rules, and we'll figure out how to proceed.

but on a meta level, the trick is to construct rules that foster competition, but does not punish success. the recent change, expanding the beginning stadium size, is a good move, as it will help save our starting teams a good bit of money. i think Jason's point of money disappearing from the game is a good one, and so if the tax on the wealth could somehow be reinjected into the game, that might be progress. don't know how to work that, though.
