I only managed to successfully blitz Elmacca, but it's not like I didn't try to win at least 1 game per week

You mean, you caught me 2 days before the cup semi final with Big Mac and Barker being rested

But good job on the report the salaries are a bit out now after the player updates (me 596 > 622) - plan on updating them?

I think you slightly overestimated your team at the time, trying to win 3 games in a week by mixing it up

It was more of a last roll of the dice on the season than overestimation. Win those two league games and I only had 3 losses at that point and had the option of adding another player to try and win the league. Those two league losses and the cup semi-final defeat meant I punted the rest of the season in terms of trying to win any silverware.

And yeah, tanking's not cool since the process blew up in Hinkie's face ;-) However, obtaining the optimum draft position when your playoff hopes are gone is a well-established strategy any sensible GM would adopt.

In other news, 37yo Avery Raymond popped in IS today. No doubt it'll go back down next week but presumably its a rare event.

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome! Bergkamp is right in saying that there are a lot of people in which I like in this league. I have not yet decided what I am going to do this season as I have a few ideas. Nevertheless, looking forward to a good season with you all. Good luck to everyone.

Not sure if I made the joke on the forum, maybe in the NT thread, but I know I did say it to our noble lord at one point, that Fallon had not been in great game shape since the Cup final last season, so I jokingly described him as being out partying (I actually said out on the piss) since finally winning something. Clearly, its continuing and again he hasn't moved from 7 GS. Drunken sod!
