I agree...I never considered it seriously either and I feel people may be being misled by what DMI means.

Hooray finally we get to tell them how useless it is.

Sorry guys but it means nothing and was deliberately made to mean nothing.

its already there.. just look at the bottom line... the salary if you are looking for some over generalization for the quality of the player. However, its just as true now as it was in high school english class.. over generalizations aren't that helpful.. in general ;)

but in seriousness...the idea is that you shouldn't be looking at just one number, you should have to evaluate how that player fits into your team's dynamic. If you don't, you end up like Isiah Thomas with a bunch of small forwards, or Matt Millen with a bunch of wide receivers.

I think that the salary system is pretty stupid... :S for example look at this player:
Owner:
Pimpers

Weekly salary:
~$4000
Age: 19

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: average Handling: mediocre
Driving: inept Passing: average
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: average Free Throw: mediocre

Experience: awful

a great player, and wtill his salary is so low... why?

EDIT: Got rid of stuff that could identify him

Just because he has a wide range of average skills does not make him a great player. It just means he is an ok small forward.

A player with Respectable set of inside skills will get a higher salary because he has a respectable set of inside skills and the other areas are not as important.

The salary is based on overall strength of a player in skill sets, not the sum of his skill levels.

come on... unnecessary.. hahaha

we got 1 decent SF (Q.Rich), one terrible (J. Jeffries, that somehow convinced people that he is a good defender.. argh!), a sophomore (R.Balkman, this one is really good on defense, and plys with heart), and a rookie W. Chandler.

That's not so much for a 15 player roster ;) But I'll agree with you if that means getting rid of Jeffries... hahahaha
