I support it and GM-Lord of Doom supports it. I am not a seasoned day-trading automaton and I can't answer for Lord of Doom, but he is a GM.

My only anecdotal evidence is that there are three good teams in Thailand. Up to now one trained big men extensively and has monster big men. One trained SG only and has legendary jump shooters. I train this and that and have won titles in 3 of 4 seasons. My aspirations are to have fun and waste time. I couldn't care less whether people are looking down their long Roman noses at me because of that or not.

No one knows yet when players stop improving. I have 24 year olds who continue to improve. Your team didn't get good by astute training. You did it by fortuitous skilltrading, which is how most good managers did it.

Hollingworth and Butler are the 2 brightest prospects by far.. I leaned towards butler as his potential makes him likely to be the most valuable asset you have.

Levesque's RB at level 2 is simply a no go... that for want of a better word will be like polishing a turd. (sorry to say!) SELL or keep and play but dont expect much from him.

Queneville needs more work than Butler but with him also having good OD and Passing to start he definitely fits the bill so far for a no2 trainee.

Question now is do you cash in on Hollingworth? He is good and should fetch a decent amount to re-invest in a 3rd trainee OR you could play Hollingworth at PF, Butler & Queneville at SF and train 1-1 for a few weeks so they will all benefit from HD/DR and possible JS/IS.

Thanks for sharing the stats - i think you have a promising start with the 2 guards - do whatever you can to find money for a 3rd guy (preferably with as high potential as possible) and train wisely. The OD/PA will prove to be valuable at resale - I am sure of this.

Feel free to BB mail me but again it would be nice to seek another opinion (other than one that supports training 24yo in 3 position or team training!)

As for your comment on rampant daytrading i'd prefer if this was referred to as skilltrading

I was forced to follow another skill trader in Japan otherwise I would have been destined to be the bridesmaid forever and never the bride!

I also don't think I'm that bad at managing minutes! ;-)

I will concur with Superfly for an overall training plan. Also feel free to BB mail me if you have any questions from a Canadian slant.

there are many ways to be successful in this game, i think you even could use teamtraining (if you able to get 15 young trainees with a lack in a specific skill which you could improve with teamtraining)
back to topic defense isnt all, you have to train both i guess plus the secondary skills
some believe real allrounders are the best, but i think its better to train only skills for the positions in combination with the height.

Well thank you sir.. can't ask for a more glowing endorsement.... ive just taken on a mentor so I would act quick if jbm is offering his words of wisdom......

Edit..i meant to say I am now mentoring someone...... although I would also welcome a mentor to improve!!

The last "mentee" that actually listened and followed my advice is the NY Wahoos - playing this week in the USA cup semifinals. So, go Wahoos! To his credit, I gave him rather vague recommendations, but he managed to apply them to his own situation. Surprising how many teams ignore good advice ...
