Last season I spent on average 25K/week and drafted middle-of-the-pack and wound up with 2 guys that jumped straight into my starting lineup. After 1 season, I could probably sell either one of them for 600K+. Do the math, and that's a pretty nice profit. I realize that every draft won't be that great, but this one was, so, there.

Well, you can't really tell who would you draft without those investments and that's the question. The picks are for free the knowledge of the crop is what you'd paid for. So there are many options what to do.

So you guys are saying to spend 25k or 10k each week during the whole season?
that's a lot of money!

this is a discussion that has popped up several times a season... yeah some people say paying 25k a week for the whole season which is 16 weeks or so is a good investment. I dispute that. 16 weeks times 25k is 400k. So far have ended 5th or higher in my league and my draft picks have been quite rubish. How higher you end up on the table how less likely you will get the better draft picks.

This is a topic I doubt people will ever agree on. Partly because every clubs situation is different. You have to try and find what is the best solution for you.

Good luck with your draft and your managerial career.

But if almost everyone in your league is new, so that he/she couldn't put much effort in scouting you might have s good chance to pick the best prospects.

no you dont... because you can only see a certain amount off players and even than it is just to give you an idea. I have scouted players in the past that hadd 4 or 5 stars and ended up being rubish. maybe i am being unlucky who knows.

you are right pointing out another possible situation. I estimate there are a billion different possibilities possible when it comes to team situations and on how much or perhaps not at all to spend on scouting. There will be a billion solutions. The guy is asking a clear answer and there isnt any. That is my opinion, i am sure even there people will disagree on that...
