well, i do not think the draft needs more talent. a 2nd round pick shouldn't be to good, an a low 1st round pick should be better than a late 1st roundpick (to equal the strenght of teams a little). so you can't complain about the talent in the draft.
to the people complaining about the scouting, if your scout would only scout 5 star players and then 4 starplayers twice, nearly no one would have to invest more then 10k a week. with 10k scouting a week im seeing 6 5 star players and 9 4 star players, so the scout would have scouted 6 5 starplayers and 5 4star players twice(a total of 11), if he only would go for high star players. this would be WAY to good for 10k a week. (6 of 11 second scouting reports were an 5 and 4 star players, maybe i was lucky, but lets say, 5 of 11, that's less then 50 percent, should be normal) you could improve your chances by more investments. so, that's fine for me.

When a scout goes out to watch a game he decides whether or not the player is worth scouting again. If he believes player X is a 1 or 2 star player then why would he go see him again.

Blake Griffin you go and watch twice. His brother Tyler is a fine payer but i don't think you need to see him a second time. That is the point most people are getting at.

If you put in 10k a week that is for 28 players. so they should scout 20 players give or take and then with the 8 reaming trips go over the 8 players that you think will have a chance to improve my ream.

I hate the fact that my staff scouted some 2 and 3 star players a second time and i have three 5 star players that i know nothing about except how they played 1 random night. At least give me their average stats instead of a random night if this is going to be the system used.

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when youre sittin at the table. Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done.

I agree with this in general, but specifically the thing I dislike the most about it is that I had absolutely no control over the process. If I had told my scout to see a certain guy, twice, and he turned out to be a bad player, than at least I would have myself to blame. Here, it's completely the other way around.

IMO, it would be much better if (maybe at the beginning of the season, or as the season goes along) we were first shown the stat line of a player in a game, and then we decided who to go see, depending on how much money we spent that week. That way there would be a weekly involvement in the scouting process, and we could decide who to see a second or third or whatever time.

The worst thing about the system, once again, is not the final result, it's how we get there...by basically not doing anything all season, and just taking 2 minutes to order the players the scouts went and saw.

You would not have a chance on B.Griffin in div II anyway:) So guys in below div1 should not whine at all on their drafts. You might get a good prospect considering that you should get scraps. How many teams draft in europe at all? What about in USA below NBA? Think about those guys of being just young guys in you're country (free additions to you're team). Use money to get players you want to play a big part in you're future team.

You would not have a chance on B.Griffin in div II anyway:) So guys in below div1 should not whine at all on their drafts. You might get a good prospect considering that you should get scraps. How many teams draft in europe at all? What about in USA below NBA? Think about those guys of being just young guys in you're country (free additions to you're team). Use money to get players you want to play a big part in you're future team.

The draft system we have now isn't perfect but it gets the job done. Of course it can't be very realistic because it just wouldn't work in this kind of international community and still be fair to everyone. Everyone has an equal chance to scout a superstar. Some people are just mad because they were not very lucky this season so they decide to vent on the forums, which is fine because it creates discussions like this. I happened to draft a nice rookie a couple seasons ago and then get garbage players last season. Eventually, it will even out and you will get a player based on your place in your division and how much money you spent on scouting.
As an example, you might spend 40k/week a season and still not draft a superstar. But then next season, you spend only 10k/week and you get an amazing player that eventually becomes a star player on your NT. As i said, of course this also depends on your Standings/Position in the draft.
Maybe this system could use a small touch-up but it seems to be working fine to me. I don't know why everyone seems to be expecting to draft a superstar player. It just won't happen.

The thing that makes the draft moot is that you would almost always do better by just saving the money you invest in it to buy young players (that you want) on the transfer wire.

Last season I invested the maximum and did not get one player worth keeping on my squad. This season, I invested nothing and still got reports on nine players. Not that it's going to matter because it's a crap shoot.

The best player I ever drafted came into the squad a couple of seasons ago. After two seasons of solid training, he's still only worth between $250 and $300K. I could have just used the money I wasted on drafting and picked up a player already at his level and been further ahead.

Until the draft pool improves at least a little, more and more managers will simply stop investing in it.

I'm sorry, but (if your post was directed to me) I must be speaking some kind of alien language that you have trouble understanding...let me try to be clear:
I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PLAYERS I AM DRAFTING.

I AM complaining about the draft process, because it's absolutely, 100% no fun at all, for the simple reason that for the entire season, you do absolutely nothing. Once again, would it not be more interesting to be able to choose which players to scout? It wouldn't change the final result of the draft because if you pick last you would still have a very slim chance of picking a player, but at least you would be somehow involved in the process. Actually it might even be more interesting because, for example, if I know I am picking last in a division with no bots, I might choose NOT to go see a 5* player twice because I know I won't get him, but maybe instead focus on a 4* player and see if he has a very high potential (or something like that).

So, for whoever is interested in responding to this post, please, I beg you, don't tell me once again that I am complaining because I am not picking superstars, or don't refer to the NBA or Euro basket because it has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Thanks...
