Well, I've already established that I probably only want to train 4 or 5 players at the most at one time, and that's while training at both the guard positions. So I'm not looking to fill my team with youngsters, just making sure I've got the trainees I need. I have two guards right now that are both good enough to start. The SG is a better player and has higher potential, so even though he'll be 19 shortly, he should still be pretty good for me. The other is already 19, and only has starter potential, so I may be selling him at the beginning of the season to make room for either a good draft pick if I get one, or another 18 year old that I'll try and snap up when the next season begins.
Otherwise, I'm already in the process of strengthening my big guys, which is probably the weakest part of my team at the moment. Trying to get a veteran on the cheap that should be a defensive presence. If I can grab one, I'll have three decent big men to share minutes at PF/C. But otherwise, I'm starting to feel like I'm in pretty good shape.
Now, when it comes to a training regimen, since I want to train guards, would rotating two weeks of training at a time between Handling, Passing, Jump Shot, Outside Shooting, and One on Ones be an effective regimen? Should I throw some Stamina and Free Throws in there too, at a week each? Pressure might also be a good idea, for perimeter defense. Just trying to get a schedule worked out now so I'm not wasting weeks of training when the new season starts.
