Their high possession rate means they will get a lot of looks. They will need to get 10-12 from each gortat & drgic, 13-16 from Dudley & Scola & 20+ from Beasley (he could easily do this if he gets 25 shots a night just might not be efficient)

The real worry for me is D- only gortat & Scola are solid defenders in my book. Frye & O'neal couldn't guard Yi's chair, Beasly is subpar along with telfair & I'm not sure about the rest but they certainly don't carry a reputation as being elite defenders

You have to remember, the Phoenix Suns only drafted Dragic because they thought he was a superb defender. And as for Dudley, last season he played against the likes of Kobe (Pretty sure I've mentioned this previously), and he did a darn good job at it too! His offensive abilities may be a bit overrated but he put up a good 10-20 points per game with the Suns last season when they needed him to. Yes, I agree you can't always rely on him, and I did mention if Beasley does play to expectations, then we do have a good shot at the playoffs.

And I can just imagine how explosive the 2nd unit is going to be: Marshall, Brown, Wes Johnson, Kieff Morris and Frye.
Marshall can find all of them at their sweet spots as mentioned earlier and any fast breaks can be led by Brown and Morris, or Johnson even, known to also be very athletic.

Wes Johnson's only "sweet spot" is on the end of the bench ... why do you think the wolves gave up on him already

Yeah, but he has loads of potential, I agree with you though, he seems to be a bust.

I'm a Suns fan myself and I know they won't be able to make the PO this season. I'd say tank it, try to get a top 5 pick in next seasons draft and go after a few free agents. A few notables would be:
James Harden
Monta Ellis
Josh Smith
DeRozen

In saying that, they have improved since last season. Compare last seasons roster to this season and they will have gotten younger, more athletic and with room to grow.

2012
Nash /
Dudely / Shannon Brown
Hill / Childress
Frye / Warrick
Gortat / Lopez

2013
Dragic / Marshall (hard to replace Nash, but Dragic is bigger, fast, stronger and a better defender)
Dudely / Shannon Brown (same as last season)
Beasley / Wesley (lost a leader in Grant Hill but Beasley and Wesley has a chance to prove themselves and the sky is the limit for these two)
Scola / Frye (as long as Frye is not starting, all is good)
Gortat / Morris (Lopez sucked! good team mate but he just doesnt get it, Morris is improving)

2014
Dragic / Marshall
James Harden / Shannon Brown
Beasely / Dudely
Josh Smith / Frye
Gortat / Morris

Btw, I forgot to mention the massive height advantage Phoenix have in all their positions (some will need to be corrected).

PG - Dragic (6"4), Marshall (6"4)
SG - Dudley (6"7), Brown (6"4)
SF - Beasley (6"10 or 6"11) not sure, Wes Johnson (6"7), but he has a 7 foot wingspan.
PF - Scola (6"10?), Frye (6"11)
C - Gortat (6"11?), Morris (6"11).

Unfortunately no 7 footers but our length in the front court is pretty crazy also keeping in mind that you have Wesley Johnson and his 7 foot wingspan defending the perimeter.
Oh and I forgot, O'Neal 6"11/Telfair 6"3/Tucker ( not sure but I think he is 6"6 and he's said to be a ferocious defender, someone who really improved and is extremely aggressive. I'd like to see how he turns out when he does get minutes. I love guys like him who puts hours in the gym :D

dragic: 18 ppg 8 apg
Brown: 12 ppg
Beasley: 15+ ppg 5 rpg
Scola: 15 ppg 8 rpg
Gortat: 16 ppg 10 rpg

Dudley would most likely start cos we need a scoring punch off the bench. That is already 75+ points with the bench scoring and some good nights from Beasley.

Dragic is a good defender, his points allowed against opponents of his position is exactly the same as AI2, and that says a lot.

Can you say that this team is better then Denver, Utah and Houston right now? Heck add in Dallas as well.

You talk about Dragic like he's the 2nd coming of Christ - he's ok but spare me with the superstar stuff. If he's so good why has he gone from San Antonio to Phoenix to Houston & back to Phoenix?

He is certainlly a starting calibre PG but he'd be lucky to be in the best 15 in the league.

Alright lads, enough about the Suns. But now that you mention the 2nd coming of Christ..

Probably the best pick up of the off-season

Okkkay, Maybe not a championship team, but a playoff team at the least...

Nope, not in the West.

That's a starting five made up of role players. I'm not knocking the individuals, they would be great role players on good teams, but as a starting five on the same team they lack the star power to be anything more than a 'solid, working class' team. You'll get effort from them every night, and they'll win their share of games, but not enough to be a playoff team.
