um, you do know that Coco has won the won the NBBA -- effectively been the best team in the USA -- four different times? and the Cup twice? and made it to the quarterfinals of the B3 tournament? was in the NBBA from Season 7 through 24?

"Welcome to the Big Leagues." indeed

Mr. Mor does have the potential to be more than Really Bad and become Truly Terrible. i see that already, at his young age, he is leading the league in turnovers.

i can see with more than 20 seasons of no training and other abuse, he could sink to the levels of TT.

and you could end up flipping him for a price that would make Clint Wiley happy -- our Fabrice was sold for $36,800, which would be quite a return on the $2000 you paid for Ofer Mor.

How in the world does a jet plane just disappear?

Anyway, here we come into the final week of the regular season, and as frequently the case, a lot is at stake, and the possibilities are wide-ranging. Let us look over the Big 8:

Penlicox and Cyborgs, alas, look like they will be two of the four teams leaving us next season.

The Farmers are locked into 6th.

Ron Swanson could swing from possibly 3rd to 5th -- they play Penlicox and Senecaville. Libertines have a similar schedule: Cyborgs and Atlanta. it seems most likely the Libertines will be enjoying the benefits of a half-salary holiday in a week.

Atlanta has clawed its way to the top seed, and face the Farmers and the Libertines. these games look winnable with the added plus of being able to boost The Hawks' enthusiasm. Home court and high enthusiasm is a potent combo for the playoffs.

ChiTown, to my eyes, has inexplicably lost 5 of their last 8 games. i think that team's collection of talent is so good, that it has taken some fancy coaching NOT to win. i haven't studied each game, but has someone been training out of position -- or am i simply wrong about ChiTown? we'll soon find out. they face Senecaville tomorrow night, and that game will likely determine the final placement in the playoffs. ChiTown closes with Penlicox while Senecaville closes with Ron Swanson, so it could conceivably come down to the final game. regardless, it looks like ChiTown and Senecaville will be meeting in the playoffs, as well.

Senecaville, the most wheelin' dealin' team i have ever seen, is this season's wild card. his roster wheel is still spinning, and who knows what will turn up over the next week? take a look at his Season Stats page -- it is a marvel he has been winning with such churning roster.

In the Great 8:

The tough-luck Window Lickers sold a big man and folded a couple of weeks ago. they will be leaving us, but they have a strong group of players to form the backbone of a very good team.

The next five positions are a mess:

Chanute and Redbull play each other tomorrow, and at stake is facing Corn Growers or Cyborg in relegation, two entirely different tasks. Chanute closes with The Lickers, Redbull, Tucumcari, so if Chanute wins . . .

Lake Merritt, the Honey Badgers, and Tucumcari are all scrambling and are probably most likely to fill the playoff positions and 5th -- although it is conceivable that Redbull makes the playoffs. Lake Merritt, perhaps the best team of the three, closes with Eugene and the Honey Badgers. The Muppets have the unenviable task of taking on the Bruins and Lake Merritt (who made that schedule?) -- while Tucumcari faces Redbull and the Lickers.

Eugene has the inside track on HCA, but the Bruins have an insurmountable PD if they should simply tie for first. Eugene has the mirror image of the Honey Badger's schedule, so nothing is settled.

i think making the playoffs in the Great 8 is a big deal because i think the top 6 teams could all find a way to make the finals.

good luck to one and all, and let us hope the outcome is not determined by injuries.
