Isnt it incredibly difficult to train a 7'5" player in guard skills though?

The 21 7'5 players currently on the transfer list would beg to differ.

It's 7'6 players that don't exist.

But yes, I imagine a 7'5 player would be extremely difficult to pop in guard skills.

I have an attachment to this trainee. He started out with really poor JS, JR, and secondary skills like REB. The secondaries are still terrible but I hope to improve on them down the road. I'm going to train one-on-one for forwards to try to slowly improve on his inside shot and to keep his salary under control. I bought another 6'0" 18 year old but he seems to train slower.

Age: 19
Height: 6'0" / 183 cm
Potential: superstar
Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: sensational ↑ Handling: sensational
Driving: proficient Passing: prominent
Inside Shot: pitiful Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: atrocious Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: average Free Throw: awful
Experience: pitiful

JFYI

Had a similar problem. I had a player who has respectable JR but pitiful JS.

With a superior coach he popped about 4 times in 5 weeks in JS.

He's my current fav : )

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: proficient ↑ Handling: average
Driving: average Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: atrocious
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: strong Free Throw: inept

Experience: atrocious

I think JS for Forwards would be more useful. Shooting skills are his main weakness at the moment so i think they need the most work.

Well they're more real than the tooth fairy or Yankee Fans at Fenway but I'll admit that his guard skills are non-existent.

I already posted him in the other thread but I thought a second opinion couldn't hurt.

Winston Hightower (12588489) Point Guard

Weekly salary: $ 12 150

DMI: 67000
Age: 20
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: hall of famer
Game Shape: strong
Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: wondrous Handling: prominent ↑
Driving: respectable Passing: prominent ↑
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: awful
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: inept Free Throw: awful

Experience: awful

Thoughts?Comments? Im training passing till prolific/sensational and then one on one until driving is prominent/prolific and then JS and JR.
It would also be helpful if someone could maybe go to salary calculator and figure out what his salary would be. I don't know how to use the calculator and so it would be really aprreciated.

I have a PG who is similar but further along in his training. Unfortunately, I bought him from a team that went bot when he was 21 so his skills aren't distributed the way I would want. I will make these suggestions:
- Train JR before he gets old and it becomes a big headache.
- Stop training handling directly and start working on driving and passing. My guy has very high handling (I suspect his last owner left handling on as the training option when he stopped signing) and when I try to train driving and passing the secondary training on handling risks pushing up his handling even more and inflating his salary well past what I want. It has put me in a bit of a bind. You will get a lot of handing out of other training anyway, and when he's 22 or 23 and you have everything else where you want it will be super easy to get his handling up as well.

Personally I would consider trying to get some more OD training in next season as well before is becomes frustrating to train him when he's old. If your goal is to make him a SG then I would really push his JR as hard as possible.
