Thank you for posting the new economy rules. That's exactly what I was looking for - not something to tell us "everything" but at least give us enough info to make decisions.

It's true that the best individuals both by salary and by performance tend not to be on the very top teams in the top leagues in well-established leagues. So, for these top leagues, this piece of the merchandising equation will probably favor weaker teams and add to the competitive balance. I would also remind you that as much as many of our frequent posters are managers who have earned their way to the top of the game, the vast majority of the managers in BuzzerBeater are not in the top couple of divisions in a well-established league.

This is a very interesting point although it is actually not what I was getting at. I was mostly referring to the salary changes pending for next season and how they seem to favour people who have trained mono-skilled monsters (I wasn't even thinking about guys in divisions below me - I was thinking of the competitive advantage in my own league).

However, it made me realize that maybe I don't really understand what you are planning to do with salaries - I got from your message that you were standardizing salaries. However, if mono-skilled players will still be significantly more costly than multi-skilled players, then I have no issue.

My point , aside from the infallibility of BBs (which you were very clever to pick up from my post) is that you deserve no "especially" because you are a supporter.

You said yourself you know that the BB team is in Boston. Now unless you are a pretty dense guy I think you would have to assume that when a person talks about a specific time of day he will use his own time zone. I live in Thailand which is 12 hours ahead of Boston and I figured it out. Wednesday means Wednesday, not noon on Wednesday in Rome.

Hi,
I have four of top BB-players in my team, Iksten was 3rd in BB-world rating last season, but all this players are foreign. I am semifinalist of BBB last season. I have 530k salary. My team is 2nd in Czech Republic, 28th on world. I have 90k merchandise.

Team "Víťazný február" is 11. in Czech Republic, 911. on world. 258k salary. and 138k merchandise.

Team "Kingzaba Blansko" is 16. in Czech Republic, 1196. on world. 225k salary. and 113k merchandise.

Wtf???? Where is your declaration that best teams will have best players? Only domestic players are profitable!!!

summary of economy changes - best teams was punished:
1, attendance - best teams attendance go down.
2, best teams will not draft good player never + they need good players to be best - in this way they haven´t pupil never.
3, only domestic players are usable. foreign players are qualmish because merchandise advantage of domestic player is too big, and proclamation of top BB player merchandise advantage is only proclamation ....

I am not Charles, but I do have a fairly good idea: be willing to work part- or full-time for a salary that's affordable for BB, and commesurate to his/her skills and experience I don't think any more detail on this will be released in the forums, but I am sure Charles will consider applications from available developpers.

1, attendance - best teams attendance go down..

except top division teams now find that they can charge more, and so top teams earn the same ON AVERAGE although the distribution is compressed, this is in an attempt to keep the gap between divisions at a appreciable, but not insurmountable level.

2, best teams will not draft good player never + they need good players to be best - in this way they haven´t pupil never..

I think something is lost in translation here, but I think you are saying that its hard for the best teams to stay at the top. I think this would be a feature of any league, its the "parity" that all the best sports leagues aim for, keeps the game exciting for all the teams and fans. We don't want a league like the Premier league in English football.

3, only domestic players are usable. foreign players are qualmish because merchandise advantage of domestic player is too big, and proclamation of top BB player merchandise advantage is only proclamation ....

This is an overexageration of this effect, yes they are better but not so prohibitively better that you shouldn't consider using a national player if he is good enough. It does put a premium on domestic players, and a premium on training players for the NT. This was the point of this design change.

are you saying you see no pop in merchandising for good statistics (league leader in points/rebounds/assists etc, and a smaller bump in other stats?) or you assume because you are the best team that you have the best players? As stated explicitly in the news we understand the best stats are often put up by the not best teams, and yes this helps them get a little more income and compress the distribution.

lets be honest about this debate, top teams complain when we make the game more competitive, lower teams complain when we reward the top teams, complaining it makes the game less competitive. Really what we are striving for is a balance between those two extremes where the game both rewards success, while remaining competitive at all levels such that anybody who works hard enough at it can reach the top. In other words the American dream all wrapped up into a neat little .com package ;) (forgive me i'm kidding in that last sentence).

do you get more money for high % of domestic players or does every player add something to the money.
cause i have 20 players right now and could sell 10 of them to increase the % of german players on my team.

i have 5nt players but get only 33k für the 2nd german league and country rank 12 :(

:D - You dont want to replicate one of if not the most watched and talked about sporting leagues in the world.......

For the sake of this excercise I'll say the weighting towards domestic seems very strong... but i know that my problem lies in the fact my players aren't good enough to make their respective national teams. Even if they did it seems from the numbers posted that the extra push to keep up with the mono-skilled farm trainers wouldnt be worth it..
