i could make a list here, however, i'll be starting with a selection between 10-12 players. we'll then play our first 2 games, after which i'll be selecting another additional 8 to 6 players ( depending if i took 10 or 12 players) to add to the NT team. this second selection will be based upon how the opponent looks like, and based upon who is in the best shape at that time.

so if you want to give your player a shot, keep his shape up and keep training him. give him between 48 and 64 minutes in the first 2 to 3 weeks and his Gs should be a 9 or very close to it.

GS really has a huge inpact, so i'll let GS influence my decision in a rather big way.

i'll have a talk with some others to see if it would be wise to post a list of names here with possible NT candidates. sometimes, that list is abused to mail managers to try and get their players, so that is the main reason why it hasn't been done in the beginning of this season.

you don't have to put the player list here but you can mail the managers and coach them a bit, no?

At least that's what Sum did

i could mail them, but untill Sum releases his players, it's useless to mail them, since i haven't got the latests updates yet ( will be getting them soon)

how would you like it to get a mail saying that you'r player will be in the NT, and then afterwards find out that he isn't in the final selection?

i'll be selecting my 10 to 12 as said earlier for the first 2 games. i'll let you guy's know on the forum if and how (list of names, personal mail to each coach or mayb eother option...) i'll let the others know who MIGHT be on the team.

but even without getting a mail, if you want to be competitive with your own team, you'll need to have a good GS.

btw, i can say this already: i don't take players who don't have Stamina lvl 5 minimal! since their are alot of good players, i have some strict rules in place for selection. i'm not gonna write em all on the forum, since it could easely be read by other NT coachs, but i'll write down this:

criteria 1: if you don't have enough defence, then i don't mind how good you'r player is, i won't take him (*)
criteria 2: if your player doesn't have stamina 5 minimal, then i don't mind what his other skills are. he won't make the NT. you need to have a minimal lvl 5 stamina.
criteria3: if you weren't able to manage the GS of your player in the previous season, then chances are high that your player won't make the selection the season after that.

these criteria might seem harsh to some, but that is what all other countries apply.

Rev

ps: (*) = example
say you have an SG with JS 20 and JR 20, but his OD is ONLY lvl 12. then i won't even consider him as an NT player. 2nd example: you have a C with RB lvl 20 and IS lvl 12, but ID only lvl 11. then don't bother mailing me to ask if i'll select him. first, work on the ID, then mail me. these 2 example are extreme examples, but i've seen some players with high JS/JR combo, but no OD already. i've also been contacted for a C with IS lvl 16, RB lvl 16, but ID lvl 9... if you can't defend your opponent, then it's no use having that player on the team. Offense wins games, Defence wins championships!

I don't agree with criterai 2.
Back-ups don't need that high stamina, 3 or even 2 is enough for those, and if you get a 20-skill god on all skills, but with stamina 2, I agree you should not set him as starter (but even then it would be okay as the coach will sub him as he gets tired, and his back up just gets many minutes) but you will never find any better sub, even if he has stamina 10...

As it's not easy to have everything, you need to be carefull to ask for the things that are needed to play the best way, and not try to ask for excesses.

for starters yes, I agree with your criteria, but for back-up, no. It''s very possible you'll turn down a perfect back-up and play with a lesser player the whole time because of criteria 2, and it might cost you games...

just a tip. ;)

i'll put it this way.

say you've got those 20-skill gods like you say. as long as the starters GS is ok, then they could be used as a back up. however, if the guy who is usually the starter, doesn't have a good GS that week, and the back up guy has great, then you've got a problem, cause either you set a starter with no Stamina, or you set a starter with bad gameshape.

it might be harse, but what i try to do select players, is that each of those players should be able to have the starting position. Injuries and sometimes bad gameshape occure ( sometimes, a player gets injured, and that causes the back up to play 90 or more minutes) then you need alternatives. so each player that i select on the NT, i want to be sure that i can use him, regardless the circumstances.

ofcourse, your usuall starters need GS, but sometimes, the starters are the back up players and sometimes, the back up are starters due to GS. so for that reason, lvl 5 stamina is really not asking to much.

Stamina trains fast, and during the season, you could easely do 3 to 4 weeks of stamina ( Allstar break + Post/off-season). so asking for lvl 5 stamina is really not alot. i understand the way you are thinking, but i hope you can understand my point aswell. selecting a player just to be a back-up is in my eyes a waste of a rosterspot. if during the season, the stamina goes down, then it's hard to ask the mamanger to take it up a lvl right away. but during allstar break and post/off season, you'll be wanting to play your best team on each position,, without wanting to worry about the minutes for normal training. so their, ST training is a logical thing. ( or FT training, tho i find ST more important than FT lvl)

I can see your point and understand Joe agrees, yet, to be the best, you need to play the best, and even though it's good to plan ahead for GS and injuries, most of the time those will be okay, and you are throwing away games, to have the best option IF something happens, while you could play the best option UNITL something happens.
or with numbers: you might throw away 3 or 4 games just to be prepared for the 1 game where something goes wrong. And then I'd think, wouldn't it be better to just throw the 1 game but win all the others...
It's the way you look at it I guess.

On the other hand, we have been talking about real low stamina examples, but what if there is a MUCH better player with stamina 4? you want to put him aside for a clearly worse player with stamina 5? while the difference in stamina might just be over 0,5 ?
The way you tell, your answer is yes, 5 is your fixed number, and that's it. It's also that idea that makes me think it's not a good plan.
