Overall, I would never use Patient on an important match. It's just not reliable and in most tested cases, it failed shortly.

Besides, I still have big trouble understanding when it can be effective.

I got results from slow pace tactics like patient when I face stronger teams. I have beaten team from better leagues using patient. You have to try and, sometimes, fail... in order to suceed! Passing is very important in this tactic too.

Actually, it's harder to play with slow paced tactics against stronger defenses. Your success must be because of your players skills (like high passing) or you had some goss mismatches but it shouldn't be considered as the best option in these situations overally..

I've read this thread long enough to know to Never use Patient.
There are just too many conditions for it to work...

Well you can use it if you know you will lose otherwise. It might give you unexpected result :D

Yes, I usually lose by 40 points, when I expect to lose by 10.
