I think that you tend to see more single-position trainers in those countries than you see here.

There isn't a high percentage of teams that do single-position training - while beneficial to us, it can retard the development of their team.

It's easy to say "well, get more single-position trainers", and that'd be great, but there aren't enough people willing to really put a hurting on their overall performance for the NT.

Hopefully as our efforts to increase interest in the NT continue (opening the no-ID portion of the DB for all USA users, preparing a chat room for 24/7 use, etc.), more users will see it fit to single-position train, and ideally we find a way for teams to single-position train AND be successful in their leagues on a consistent basis.

Personally, I'm guessing most of the Europeans have more experience with Hattrick and have created more farm teams. I mean, can any team really be competitive with a $200k+ salary player on it?

I am 13, but before you count me out, I am always told I am very mature and I only get A's in a very tough academic school. I love basketball and play on a 7th CYO team, an 8th AAU team and my school team. I am always told I have high "Basketball IQ" by my coaches, which would help me with the tactics and everything else I will need to do.
Even though I am younger than the other candidates you should still vote for me!

Where as JP is 30 and is a programmer. Getting As (while good) has NOTHING to do with BB.

Nothing to do with BB, since it is a game of numbers.

Other than what you have already put, what BB credentials do you have? League championships, star players, experience with tactics, communication with community, etc?

well, numerically, what is the difference between a 200k player and a 60k a week player?

arguably smaller than the difference between say a 20k a week player and a 8k a week player.

a few things to make up for the difference.

one, shotblocking at least on bigmen has a really detrimental effect on salary (making it unnaturally large earlier than what would be ideal), while its effect on overall team talent is... ummm... well not worth the salary potentially (at least this season now that the game engine has shifted back)

its a big enough deal that if i thought i could get a similar center with slightly lower shotblocking for the same price i'd sell jody ortega today.

so i don't know if i even want this kind of behemoth on our team, even though i'd happily take him.

as juice pointed out there isnt alot of mono player training, largely because things like one-on-one for guards, very effective training overall, almost mandates dual posittion trianing, so when its time to train presure you might as well dual train there instead of mono train.

there are alot of interesting thoughts on training and when the right time to unload players is from a team building standpoint.

Yeah but there is a difference between the perspective of the NT manager and the team manager. I understand how the salary calculations work. The point is those players are better than ours so how do we A) reach those levels or game plan for it?

Until we reach that level of talent it will be tough to win year after year.

Getting A's proves that I am smart and have, as somebody said, a matured brain.

And how is basketball a game of numbers? I know you use angles and stuff, so it would be geometry, but it takes many other things. It is NOT a game of numbers.

Basketball itself is a game of number and statistics but that is an argument we will not get into on this thread but until you accept that you will never truly understand or appreciate the game.

Buzzerbeater itself is one hundred percent a game of numbers it is based on formula's and calculations and the tactics are based more on the formulas than anything else. If you cant grasp algorithms and mid to advanced calculus you will never be able to decifer patterns and similarities in the statistics which is the difference between a mediocre manager and a NT manager.
